Dimensional Teleportation

After seeing Yao En off, Qin Mo began preparing for the dimensional teleportation experiment.

The dimensional teleportation device was transported to the experimental site.

This site was located in a newly opened cave beneath the fortress, with two cells built in the left and right corners of the vast underground space.

The person used for the experiment had already been locked into the leftmost cell.

This person wasn't a rebel bishop but a criminal, convicted for attempting to dismantle logistics machines for money.

After Grot sent Yao En onto the transport, he immediately rushed to the experimental site to assist Qin Mo, ready to follow his commands.

"Put this on the test subject," Qin Mo said, pointing to the metal backpack on the table.

Grot immediately picked up the backpack and walked into the cell. The prisoner didn't dare to disobey him and obediently put on the backpack. He even proactively closed the cell door after Grot left.

"Is that a gravity backpack?" Grot asked curiously.

"No, it's a protection device," Qin Mo explained as he activated the dimensional teleportation device. "The backpack contains a locator, a soul binder, and a shield generator, ensuring he can be teleported and arrive intact."

"Sounds profound..." Grot didn't understand the complex technology and shifted his gaze to the teleportation device.

It was a square object, two meters in height and length, made of alloy with energy patterns on its metallic surface.

As Qin Mo raised his hand, numerous cables penetrated the wall and entered the experimental site, connecting to the teleportation device.

"First experiment, begin." Qin Mo raised his hand and placed it on the teleportation device, then used his telekinesis to activate the entire apparatus.

Grot quickly looked up, focusing on the criminal.

The criminal's body began to contort and twist, emitting heart-wrenching screams.

At this moment, the backpack released energy, and a humanoid energy form gradually materialized above the criminal's flesh. This energy form attempted to grab its own body but couldn't touch it. Instead of being pulled out of the body, it was firmly fixed to the flesh by the energy.

"That thing is his soul," Qin Mo said.

"It looks like that backpack didn't work," Grot quickly reminded him.

"It's working, just not fully," Qin Mo continued to observe for another two seconds, then raised his hand.

At this point, all the devices inside the backpack were activated, and an oval barrier enveloped the criminal's body and soul.

The next second, the criminal appeared in another cell. The barrier on his body gradually dissipated, and his soul and body merged together again. He collapsed onto the ground, gasping in pain.

"Are we going to use this thing to teleport out of the Underhive?" Grot asked worriedly.

"Of course. The teleportation device is just the first step. We'll use this thing to travel between galaxies in the future," Qin Mo nodded.

Grot looked at the criminal with a pale face, feeling that the teleportation device was more like an instrument of torture.

"If the protection device was activated before the teleportation began, he wouldn't have felt any pain," Qin Mo said as he walked to the cell, asking the criminal, "What did you see during the teleportation?"

"Before the teleportation started... I saw a lot of lines... everything in my vision turned transparent... Then I seemed to see many things... but also like I saw nothing," the criminal spoke incoherently.

The criminal was briefly sent into another dimension during the teleportation, but his human senses were not acute enough, and his sensory organs couldn't perceive more in that dimension.

But it didn't matter; he had been successfully teleported.

"You're quite lucky. I thought you might get sent into the wall during this experiment," Qin Mo chuckled.

"What?" The criminal looked up in horror, finally realizing he had narrowly escaped a potentially fatal ordeal.

Qin Mo turned and walked back to the teleportation device. Instead of starting another experiment, he began to ponder.

The principle of dimensional teleportation was very simple: use sufficient energy to open a dimensional channel and then push a person or object through to the other side.

Imagine the material universe as a chessboard. If a piece wants to move from the left side to the right, it has to move one square at a time. Dimensional teleportation, on the other hand, is like someone picking up the piece and placing it directly at the destination.

When the teleportation device begins the process, it calls upon the Master Control Intelligence's computing power to precisely calculate various data between the person wearing the protection device and the target location. However, if there is no locator near the target location, this calculation will inevitably have deviations.

The deviation might be one or two meters, or even ten or a hundred meters. For a warship, this wouldn't matter as long as it wasn't teleported directly onto a planet; a slight deviation is acceptable.

But for a person, a deviation of a few meters could mean getting stuck in a wall or even merging with debris...

Solving this problem was simple: have the Master Control Intelligence perform calculations for a longer duration to achieve greater precision.

Once the first person is safely teleported, it would be stable. They could place beacons at the teleportation points, eliminating the need for the Master Control Intelligence to calculate, and the teleportation error would not exceed one meter.

"New Kato suddenly lost power, the cause is still under investigation!" Klein suddenly burst through the door, shouting his report, interrupting Qin Mo's thoughts.

"I used New Kato's electricity for the experiment," Qin Mo explained to Klein.

The drawback of dimensional teleportation was its high energy consumption, but this was not a significant problem for Qin Mo, as he could use lightning to pre-charge the teleportation device.

This time, using New Kato's electricity was just to test how far the city's power could send a person.

The test results were clear: teleporting the criminal between two cells less than a hundred meters apart caused New Kato to lose power. Any further and it would truly be impossible.

"Success."

"That's great! So, we can freely enter and exit the Underhive?"
