When Bandis was taken to his resting quarters, a Blood Reaver stepped forward and injected him with a dose of medicine.
The old Thunder Warrior returned to normal. Not only was his mind restored, but even his body had become much younger.
"This is your payment for your battles during this time."
The head connected to the Blood Reaver's spine spoke, and then Bandis was handed a small square box.
There were four doses of medicine inside.
The Blood Reavers could revive Dark Eldar corpses rotten beyond recognition. They possessed advanced medical technology, so these doses had the same effect as the one injected into Bandis earlier.
"Only four? That's not enough." Bandis shook his head.
"You only earned enough to buy four doses." The Blood Reaver turned around. "But you have another reward. Since you won this gladiatorial match, you are entitled to a trophy."
As soon as it spoke, a female Dark Eldar wearing nothing but a strip of rag was brought before Bandis.
She was a slave.
A trophy granted to him for his outstanding performance.
To the Dark Eldar, giving one of their own to an alien warrior was nothing strange. They had plenty of their kind serving as slaves anyway.
"How much can she be sold for?" Bandis asked.
"Perhaps enough for one dose."
"Sell her. Trade her for the medicine."
When she heard Bandis say he would sell her, the Eldar slave was so terrified that she clung to his leg and begged through tears.
If she were sold, she would be sold to the Blood Reavers.
Then her fate...
Bandis rose without caring in the slightest. He accepted the dose exchanged for the slave from the Blood Reaver, then turned and left the gladiatorial arena district.
