"Locke!"
"When will the teleportation device be finished?"
Lando, Chapter Master of the Burning Falcons, swept down from the long passage connected to the Desiderian Portal and landed beside the Iron Warrior, shouting his question.
This portal used by the Dark Eldar was unstable. Even linking it with the portal built by the Ark Eldar had been unreliable. If they wanted it to deploy a larger force, they would have to wait for the teleportation device to be completed.
If the portal had been located on Commorragh's surface, shipborne teleportation would have solved the problem. But it lay deep inside, at the very core of Commorragh. With the Webway city's spatial coordinate data in disarray, teleporting deep into the city was difficult.
This was also the problem facing the Tyran Army at Commorragh's outskirts.
"Steel within and without, mate." Locke, the Iron Warrior, looked at Lando. "A heart of steel. Face everything calmly. Don't rush."
Locke had been doing everything he could to complete the task. His movements were clearly fast, but his expression was so placid that he looked utterly unhurried.
"The battle line has been pushed back. We need support!" Lando urged, practically roaring.
By this point in the fighting around the portal, Dark Eldar reinforcements had arrived, and the Space Marines' advance was no longer going smoothly.
True, with the C'tan Chronicler's assistance, the Space Marines could advance even as droplets more powerful than nuclear bombs constantly streaked overhead. But the Dark Eldar had been forced to bring out their reserves as well.
In those emotionless warrior legions modified by the Blood Reavers, nearly every soldier carried an antimatter rifle.
The Dark Eldar always claimed that they were the true heirs of the Ancient Eldar Empire. That was not mere boasting—they genuinely had inherited some of
