The Blackstone ships were gradually taking effect, and the Plague Fleet's combat strength was steadily weakening, but those evil, blasphemous, disgusting monstrosities were still baring their fangs and claws.

As the Void War raged, a small Frigate broke away from the massive fleet formation and headed toward Brumm's orbit.

Aside from the rather respectable golden Double-headed Eagle emblem, every other part of the Frigate radiated dilapidation.

The warship had originally been a Storm-class Frigate of the Imperial Navy. No one knew its name, because it had drifted out of the Warp near an Ecclesiarchy world.

The people of that poor Ecclesiarchy world had happened to be troubled by their lack of a ship to carry their young and able-bodied people to join the Golden Crusade. They therefore regarded the Frigate as a gift from the God-Emperor and restored it.

The price of restoring the ship was 4.44 million middle-aged and elderly people from the world. The priests of a Forge World took them away along with the Frigate. Once 440,000 of them had been turned into Servitors, the Frigate was given a basic overhaul and sent back.

To raise funds for the young people to join the crusade, the Ecclesiarchy world sold another million people to that priest in exchange for supplies sufficient to support the young people until they reached the Golden Crusade's front lines.

In admiration for the Governor's act of taking the lead by selling his own daughter, the Forge World also threw in a Double-headed Eagle and an Omnissiah cog emblem for free, affixing one to each side of the Frigate.

Though the two emblems still looked quite intact, they had clearly been removed from some large warship, to the point that the Frigate could use them as shields.
