"So, you intended to continue working with me."
As the warship approached the Black Legion fleet, Ahriman tilted his head slightly, his voice emerging dully from beneath his horned helm.
The blue gaze visible through the slits of his helm briefly settled on Lupercal, making it clear to him that, despite the many people on the command deck, Ahriman was speaking to him.
"My condition was to kidnap Fabius and have him clone my father. That was all." Lupercal said. "You helped me achieve that goal. You helped me slaughter our way through the Word Bearers' pigsty, let me seize the Blackstone portal, let me seize Fabius. My goal has been achieved."
After saying that, Lupercal paused for two seconds. "But your goal has not yet been achieved, so I cannot end our cooperation."
Ahriman remained silent. He had only turned his head slightly just now and did not look at Lupercal.
Naturally, Lupercal could not guess what Ahriman was feeling or thinking.
After a moment of silence, Lupercal stroked the Daemon Sword and asked, "What do we do next? I mean, we charge straight into those damned Abaddon lackeys' ships, seize the artifacts you mentioned, and then what? What use are those artifacts to you?"
"They are useful." In response to Lupercal's question, Ahriman gave only those two words.
Lupercal did not know what Ahriman's wish was. If he had, he would certainly have been shocked.
Ahriman wished to enter the Aeldari library that held countless truths of the universe, histories of the past, and endless knowledge concerning Psychic Power—the Black Library.
He believed that if he entered the Black Library, he could find a way to restore the Thousand Sons Legion to normal, rather than leaving them forever bound within armor, like puppets toyed with at another's whim.
