Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu walked out of the teaching building side by side. As soon as they rounded the stairwell, they spotted three people leaning against the windowsill at the end of the corridor.
Wang Dong'er stood with her arms crossed over her chest. Her pink-and-blue hair fluttered gently in the draft, and she looked as though she had been waiting for a long time.
Cui Yajie sat on the windowsill, swinging her legs. When she saw the two of them come out, she waved them over.
Xiao Xiao stood beside Cui Yajie, rising onto her tiptoes to peer their way.
"How long were you two in there? Almost two hours, right?" Wang Dong'er was the first to speak, her impatience plain in her voice.
Dai Huabin glanced at the three of them, a little surprised. "You've been waiting here the whole time?"

Wang Dong'er rolled her eyes.
"Director Du called you in alone, then closed the door and put up a soundproof barrier. Who wouldn't be curious?"
Cui Yajie hopped down from the windowsill. Her pink hair swayed behind her as she came closer and lowered her voice.
"So, what was the reward? Come on, tell us."
Xiao Xiao said nothing, but her clear eyes stayed fixed on Dai Huabin, her curiosity written all over her face.
Dai Huabin thought it over.
Du Weilun had warned him not to go around telling people about the Soul Bones, but these three were core members of his team. They would be fighting together in the future, so there was no point hiding it from them.
"Soul Bones."
Dai Huabin lowered his voice.
"And one for each of us."
The words fell, and the corridor fell silent for two seconds.
"Soul Bones!"
Wang Dong'er's voice rose halfway through the corridor.
