Bi Ji sensed Liu Feng's unusual aura—an aura that promotes surrounding life, cultivation, and emotional healing—and sought him out while he was travelling with the Scorpion Tiger. After learning that he was an elf rather than a human, she chose to keep him at her side rather than place him with the Emerald Swan clan. Liu Feng accepted her offer to live with her, beginning their familial bond 3.

She brought Liu Feng toward the core area of the Star Dou Great Forest, explaining the Great Beasts and promising that they could teach him. When Lord Bear objected to Liu Feng's presence, Bi Ji openly confronted him and protected Liu Feng until he withdrew 4 5.
