Tap! Tap!
Moke, in human form, strolled through the forest with steady, resolute steps.
In the forest not far away, over a hundred azure wind wolves watched him with fear and hatred. They were restless, yet not a single wind wolf dared to rush in and attack him.
These beasts still weren't satisfied after I killed dozens of them?
Moke thought casually.
The wind wolf pack had attacked him earlier, but he had not even needed to transform. Wielding the Iron Leaf Sword in human form, he had slaughtered dozens of wind wolves in less than a minute.
He had also killed the two Level Six wind wolf leaders, leaving the pack too afraid to surround and attack him again. However, they were unwilling to simply leave.
Once Moke had departed from the area, the hundred-odd wind wolves rushed one after another toward the corpses of the two wind wolf leaders like the wind.
The fastest few wind wolves were Level Five. They immediately tore open the heads of the two wind wolf leaders, intending to devour their Level Six magic crystal cores.
There were quite a few Level Five wind wolves in the pack, and they even began killing one another over them.
"Damn it, I thought you were so loyal. Turns out you were fighting over the Level Six magic crystal cores."
Moke turned back and saw the scene, cursing under his breath in irritation.
Then he headed toward the western side of the Magical Beast Mountain Range without looking back.
After traveling over a hundred kilometers and gradually entering the depths of the Magical Beast Mountain Range, Moke finally arrived at a lake in the center of the range.
"Purple Crystal Spirit Foxes supposedly live near this great lake, according to the information I received. It seems they like eating the Golden Spirit Fish in the lake."
Moke looked around vigilantly, as he was still in human form.
The main reason was that his appearance after transforming into a Holy Dragon Warrior was truly rather terrifying.
High-level magical beasts possessed great intelligence. After seeing his horrifying appearance, they would become wary and might even avoid him in advance.
The lake hidden in the center of the Magical Beast Mountain Range was enormous. Some high-level magical beasts were drinking nearby, and the closest one to Moke was a Level Seven Golden-Striped Leopard.
The Golden-Striped Leopard's senses were exceptionally sharp. The instant Moke appeared, it fixed its gaze on him.
"Roar!"
A human actually dared to appear in the magical beast forest. The Golden-Striped Leopard immediately growled at Moke, then sprang forward like a golden arrow. Its speed was extremely fast.
"A Level Seven speed-type magical beast poses quite a threat to me in human form."
Moke held the Iron Leaf Sword and remained still. Only when the Golden-Striped Leopard leaped before him did he suddenly twist his waist, the Iron Leaf Sword drawing a faint afterimage as it slashed toward the leopard's most vulnerable point—its neck.
However, the Golden-Striped Leopard was among the best of Level Seven magical beasts, and its speed could rival that of a Level Eight magical beast. Its body twisted strangely in midair, forcing Moke's certain strike away from its neck and onto its hindquarters.
With that attack speed, he's only a Level Six warrior. He can't hurt me...
"Roar!"
The highly intelligent Golden-Striped Leopard thought this as its sharp front claws moved to tear apart the head of the weak warrior before it. Yet the intense pain from its rear made it roar uncontrollably, even distorting the motion of its strike toward Moke's head.
Moke rolled aside to evade its claws, while the Golden-Striped Leopard landed awkwardly.
Its rear was gone. The Iron Leaf Sword had carved away a large slab of flesh along with its muscles and bones. The moment it landed, it tried to flee.
Unfortunately, even its shin bones had been broken, greatly reducing its speed.
"Pfft!"
Moke directly caught up to it. The Iron Leaf Sword brushed across the Golden-Striped Leopard's neck like a breeze, and its enormous head was sent flying.
What Moke did not know was that a small purple beast had been watching him ever since his battle with the Golden-Striped Leopard. However, the purple beast had been cautious and had not acted.
Only after Moke killed the Golden-Striped Leopard did the purple beast determine that he was merely a Level Six warrior. Its body then became a purple afterimage as it shot toward him.
The small purple beast was truly fast. Its sudden attack gave Moke no time for any extra movement, and the force of the wind behind him sent a chill down the back of his head.
At the critical moment, a layer of golden scales covered Moke's entire body in an instant.
"Clang!"
The purple beast's claws, capable of tearing apart the body of a Level Eight magical beast, struck the golden scales on Moke's neck and produced the sound of clashing metal.
"Chirp!" It cried out in shock. Its claws, which it had always been so proud of, had failed even to scratch through the opponent's scales!
And wasn't this a human?
How had scales suddenly grown on him? And with such absurd defensive power?!
The purple beast was greatly alarmed, and its first thought was to flee immediately.
But how could Moke give it that chance? After transforming, he swung the Iron Leaf Sword even faster, as though he had merged with the wind.
Before the purple beast could retreat, Moke drove the sword through its head with a backhand thrust, skewering it on the Iron Leaf Sword like a candied hawthorn.
"Purple Crystal Spirit Fox, I didn't find you, yet you came straight to me instead."
Moke chuckled. Ignoring the Golden-Striped Leopard's corpse on the ground, he carried the corpse of the Purple Crystal Spirit Fox and swiftly headed toward another area of the Magical Beast Mountain Range.
More than a hundred kilometers west of the great lake, beneath a smooth cliff face that looked as though it had been cut by blades and axes, Moke tore the Purple-Eyed Spirit Fox apart and threw it on the ground. Its distinctive fragrance mixed with the smell of blood and spread outward.
He himself hid discreetly in a nearby tree.
"Purple-Eyed Spirit Foxes are Level Eight wind-element magical beasts. They enjoy Golden-Scaled Fish, but their favorite food is the eggs of Level Nine Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants."
"Because of this, Purple-Eyed Spirit Foxes are hated to the core by the Golden-Patterned Thunder Ant clan, and they have also become one of the favorite foods of Level Nine Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants."
Moke's original target had not been the Level Eight Purple-Eyed Spirit Foxes, but the Level Nine Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants.
After all, Level Nine was better than Level Eight, and Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants were smaller and less likely to attract attention. They were Moke's best possible choice.
Several hours passed without any movement.
Moke was not in a hurry and continued waiting patiently. He had long known that Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants were cautious by nature and usually hid within caves beneath the cliff.
"Rustle, rustle!"
Not until the following morning did faint sounds suddenly emerge from within the cliff.
Then, two fist-sized creatures crawled out and looked around.
Suddenly, their speed surged to the limit, and in the blink of an eye, they darted to the Purple Crystal Spirit Fox's corpse.
"They finally came out!" Moke was overjoyed. He sprang down from the tree, his speed instantly reaching its limit. He even cast a Level Six wind-element support spell on himself, though it was better than nothing.
"Squeak! Squeak!"
The two Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants were shocked. The corpse had indeed been deliberately placed here by someone!
However, they were both Level Nine magical beasts, the rulers of this area!
Facing the golden-scaled monster charging toward them, the two Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants opened their mouths and fired several bolts of purple lightning in an instant.
"Crackle! Crackle!"
The purple lightning they unleashed was truly powerful, comparable to peak Level Seven magic. A scorched smell filled the air wherever it passed.
Yet what shocked the two Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants was that the bolts of lightning striking the golden-scaled monster strangely vanished without a trace!
The golden-scaled monster seemed to feel nothing as it charged straight at them!
"Holy Dragons are immune to all magic. You dare use magic in front of me?"
Moke descended like a demon god and entangled the two Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants in the blink of an eye.
Although he had not comprehended the laws of the wind element, driven by his immense strength, the Iron Leaf Sword seemed to become a phantom as it attacked the two Golden-Patterned Thunder Ants from all directions.
