Although he was praising Moke, Sesler's several ninth-level summons had all gathered around him.
Sesler was still wary of this golden-scaled monster that had suddenly appeared.
Still, Sesler understood that, given the strength his counterpart had displayed, he could instantly kill even an angel at the Saint Realm initial stage. If he wanted to kill Sesler, there would be no stopping him.
"Sesler, are you a ninth-level Grand Necromancer?"
At that moment, Moke looked at Sesler with keen interest.
The instant he heard Sesler's name, Moke had thought of necromancy.
He had an affinity for every magical element, so in theory, he should also be able to practice necromancy. Moke was rather interested in this legendary magic.
However, necromancy belonged to the Edict of Death, one of the Four Edicts, and Moke had no idea how to practice it.
Practicing necromancy required not only talent, but also someone to guide him.
"Yes, I'm a ninth-level Grand Necromancer." Sesler tried to look as friendly as possible. "Which plane are you from?"
"The Netherworld or the Infernal Realm?" Sesler asked in puzzlement.
Although he was only a ninth-level mage, Sesler had lived for over eight hundred years and practiced necromancy, so he knew about the other Higher Planes.
"Me? I'm from the Yulan Continent plane. I was born in the Holy Union."
Moke smiled as the scales receded from his body, and a complete robe he took from his Interspatial Ring settled naturally over him.
"You're human? And you have an Interspatial Ring?" Sesler was startled.
Sesler had an Interspatial Ring himself, but he had obtained it by chance.
This man who could transform into a golden-scaled monster actually had an Interspatial Ring too!
"Have you heard of the Dragonblood Warrior Family?"
"A Dragonblood Warrior? You're a Dragonblood Warrior?" Sesler felt as though he had been shocked over and over again today. He had actually met a legendary Dragonblood Warrior!
"This isn't the place to talk. Let's head into the Magical Beast Forest first."
Moke said calmly, "The Radiant Church's Saint Realm Angel is dead. They'll definitely send stronger Saint Realm experts, and I can't handle anyone at the Saint Realm peak yet."
"All right. I was planning to cross the Magical Beast Forest and head to the O'Brien Empire anyway."
Sesler smiled. "Once we're in the Magical Beast Forest, we'll have to have a proper chat. I'm very fond of people who oppose the Radiant Church."
"I'm also very interested in legendary Necromancers."
Moke smiled faintly. Perhaps he could get Sesler to teach him necromancy. Surely he would not refuse the man who had saved his life?
Almost at the same time that Moke and Sesler entered the Magical Beast Mountain Range, Prust's child, the seventh-level Blood-Eyed Mane Lion, also managed to dart into the mountain range.
"This is great, just great! That bastard Terry actually died?!"
"He went to capture that ninth-level Grand Necromancer. Could that Grand Necromancer have killed him?"
"But that bastard said there was another expert besides the ninth-level Grand Necromancer. He even told me to notify the Radiant Church and have them send someone stronger. Maybe that mysterious expert killed him!"
The seventh-level Blood-Eyed Mane Lion was beside himself with excitement, thinking it over as he raced toward home.
Because he was a Blood-Eyed Mane Lion, even some eighth- and ninth-level magical beasts kept their distance when they saw him. Though he was still weak, a Saint Realm father often stood behind one of his kind.
Few magical beasts in the Magical Beast Forest dared to provoke a Saint Realm Magical Beast Cub.
"Hm?"
Inside a spacious cave, the sleeping Prust suddenly opened his eyes.
"Gila!"
Prust shot out of his cave like a bolt of lightning.
His keen gaze immediately locked onto his youngest son, who was racing toward him from afar.
"Awooo!"
Gila was excited too, speaking eagerly to his father in the magical beast language. "Father, the Ascetic who forced me to sign a Master-Servant Contract is dead!"
"I slipped out of the Radiant Church before anyone discovered his death."
Father and son soon nestled together. Prust excitedly licked Gila's fur, then said, "Gila, I found someone to kill that Ascetic."
"Huh?"
Gila was startled. "Father, you know a powerful human?"
"Could it be that ninth-level Grand Necromancer?"
"A ninth-level Grand Necromancer?" Prust was puzzled too. "I sought out a descendant of the Dragonblood Warriors. His magic should not have reached the ninth level yet."
"A descendant of the Dragonblood Warrior Family?" Gila thought of the mysterious expert Terry had mentioned.
"Father, that might be it. Before that bastard died, he said there was another mysterious expert who could easily kill a Ninth-Level Warrior. He even had the Radiant Church send a Saint Realm Angel to help."
"A Saint Realm Angel?!"
Prust immediately frowned. "Moke is strong, but a Saint Realm Angel..."
For a moment, Prust could not judge whether Moke or the Saint Realm Angel was stronger.
"But with his defenses, a Two-Winged Angel certainly couldn't kill him anytime soon."
Prust immediately let out a howl. "Gila, hide here at home. I'm going to help him."
"Father, that place isn't in the Magical Beast Mountain Range! If you go, the Radiant Church's Saint Realm experts could easily target you!" Gila howled anxiously.
Prust said solemnly, "Gila, I promised that if he helped win back your freedom, I would sign a Master-Servant Contract with him. My master is in trouble now. I can't stand by and do nothing."
"A Master-Servant Contract?" Gila was stunned.
"Necromancy depends heavily on talent. You can actually practice it?"
Sesler stared at Moke in astonishment.
At Moke's request, he had taught him how to practice necromancy.
Since Moke was already a Level Seven Mage, he had grasped the basics with ease.
And under Sesler's guidance, he had absorbed the energy of the Edict of Death from the world around him on his very first attempt, giving the old man who had lived for over eight hundred years quite a fright!
"Besides the energy of the seven natural elements, the world also contains the energies of the Four Edicts!" Moke's eyes shone brightly. "But I was so focused on absorbing elemental energy before that I overlooked this free-floating edict energy!"
He had confirmed that he could practice necromancy!
Looks like I can explore the Netherworld ahead of schedule, Moke thought with an inward smile.
Moke smiled. "Sesler, I do have some talent for practicing magic."
"Some talent? A fifteen-year-old Level Seven Mage!"
"And now you can practice necromancy too! Yet your soul clearly isn't very pure!" Sesler nearly tore out his own snow-white goatee!
He studied Moke carefully, then discovered to his astonishment that the young man's soul was indeed not pure. Instead, it faintly exuded a sacred aura!
"A holy soul? How is that possible? Just who are you?"
Sesler's eyes widened again. "Or are you not human?"
