"Damn it, how are they keeping up with me?!"
A student with a buzz cut ducked into the alley in a panic. After obtaining a token, he had been overjoyed, thinking he could smoothly make it into the top sixteen by simply waiting for the competition to end.
But he had never imagined that getting the token would be the start of a nightmare.
The token had a tracking system. Once every hour, it sent out a signal to other locations, letting the other contestants know that the token was in his possession.
If that were all, he only needed to move to a new location every so often to evade the other students' pursuit. After all, the tracker on the token didn't send out signals constantly.
People nearby could only learn where the token had been an hour earlier, which gave him some time to escape. Thanks to his ability to relocate quickly, his cautious nature, and his superb acting skills, he had managed to avoid the contestants who came after him and stay safe until now.
But who could have guessed he'd run into someone who wouldn't stop chasing him? No matter how he fled, the person kept following him like a hound. He simply couldn't shake his pursuer.

In that instant, a figure appeared in front of the buzz-cut student, blocking his way. It was Xia Ping. Using the tracker on his watch, along with the Ten Thousand Mile Tracking Technique to pick up his scent, Xia Ping had finally cornered him in the alley.
"Kid, don't push your luck."
The buzz-cut student gritted his teeth and glared at Xia Ping. "You've been chasing me for a long time. Don't think I'm afraid to deal with you."
"The only reason you're
