In the jungle.
Several girls moved swiftly, darting between the trees and dodging the criminals' attacks. Their faces were panic-stricken, and some were even injured.
"Damn it!"
Chu Rong gritted her teeth. She was carrying an injured girl on her back. The girl had accidentally been hit by a laser moments ago, injuring her left leg and leaving her bleeding. She could barely move.
If Chu Rong abandoned her, she could certainly escape the criminals. But given her character, how could she leave someone to die?
"Didn't they say this was an uninhabited island with nothing but ferocious beasts? Where did these criminals come from?" Chu Rong was furious and couldn't understand why this was happening.
She had been leading several companions on a hunt for ferocious beasts, wholly focused on defeating Jiang Yaru, when three or four criminals carrying guns suddenly burst out. They were vicious and merciless.
They had killed two male students in an instant, terrifying everyone.
Afterward, she had managed to kill one of them with her formidable martial skills, but she was outnumbered, and they had weapons. So she had no choice but to flee deeper into the jungle.
"Xiao Rong, we can't keep going. We've been running for ages, and we're out of strength," one girl beside her gasped. Her face was deathly pale, and sweat poured down her forehead. She was clearly close to exhaustion.
The others were in the same state. None of them had Chu Rong's stamina; she could keep running for a day and a night without much trouble. She was exceptionally gifted.
"Don't let your guard down."
Chu Rong shouted angrily, "Can't you see those criminals right behind us? Do you have any idea what they'll do to us if they catch us? Grit your teeth and keep going!"
