The many Soul Hall elders stared nervously at the guard. They instinctively sensed that something big had happened. Whatever had taken place at the Inheritance Hall was no small matter; they couldn't afford even the slightest oversight.

The guard spoke in a low voice, his face dark as could be.
"How do you know it was stolen? Even if someone broke into the Inheritance Hall, the Inheritance Stele is a treasured secret of our Soul Clan. Anyone who isn't a member of the Soul Clan could never receive its inheritance."
Someone asked.
The guard wore a strange expression, but still answered, "Because the little thief wrote a line on the wall of the Inheritance Hall: 'What a disappointment. The Soul Hall's defenses are nothing special. I've taken the Soul Clan's secret art as a keepsake. Signed, Wu Taidou.'"

At those words, everyone was stunned. They could hardly believe their ears, and all stared fixedly at the guard.
The Hall Master, Chang Shisheng, was especially furious. His eyes looked as though he could devour someone, and his killing intent soared skyward, piercing the heavens.
