The next day, the Sea Dragon Clan, Octopus Clan, Sea Shell Clan, Electric Eel Clan, and other Sea Demon races immediately withdrew from more than a dozen human islands. They killed no one, did not seize a single treasure, and simply retraced their route back.
For a time, the many captured humans felt as though they had just awakened from a dream. If they were not still tied up with ropes, they would have wondered whether they were dreaming. Otherwise, how could something so absurd have happened?
"What exactly is going on? Why did those ferocious, evil Sea Demons suddenly withdraw without a single word getting out?" someone asked in confusion.
In fact, this was everyone's question. They were utterly baffled.
"I get it. It must have been the ancestors. It was definitely our ancestors who acted. Otherwise, why would those Sea Demons obediently retreat without even daring to fart?"
"That's right. If a King hadn't personally stepped forward to cow those Sea Demons and let them know how formidable our human Kings are, why would they leave obediently without daring to take so much as a hair?"
"Our ancestors are truly incredible. Worthy of being Kings—they scared even those vicious, lawless Sea Demons into pissing themselves."
The humans were all brimming with pride, savoring a sense of honor. With Kings watching over them, they felt completely safe.
"But if those Sea Demons truly feared our ancestors, why would they have come to attack us in the first place? There must be another reason, right?" someone raised a question.
The crowd froze for a moment, finding that quite reasonable. If their family ancestors' deterrence was truly so powerful, those Sea Demons would not have dared to invade their islands so openly.
