Background / History
When the Dragon God split apart, the Golden Dragon King inherited its physical body and destructive power, while the Silver Dragon King inherited its wisdom and elemental control 75. It also inherited the Dragon God's malice, making it an overwhelmingly destructive being capable of fighting five God Kings alone. The five God Kings ultimately joined forces to imprison it in the God Forbidden Land 67.
Its awakening begins deep within the God Forbidden Land, where a dragon roar shatters Dai Mubai's divine tiger claw and knocks Yu Xiaogang unconscious 66 67. Still encased in a massive golden cocoon, it calls Dai Mubai and Yu Xiaogang its new “cellmates,” identifies itself as the Golden Dragon King, and orders Dai Mubai to bring Yu Xiaogang before it 67.
Dai Mubai tells the Golden Dragon King of Tang San and the God Realm's internal conflicts. Yu Xiaogang then asks it to kill Tang San; the Golden Dragon King agrees, seeing the chance to break its seal through half of Dai Mubai's divine soul 68. Feng Yan later provides a concealed Golden Trident to trigger the seal, enabling the Golden Dragon King’s escape 73.
After emerging from its cocoon, the Golden Dragon King destroys Dai Mubai's surrendered half-soul, shatters the God Forbidden Land, and heads for the God Realm with the stated intent to kill the Asura God and annihilate the realm itself 74 75. The God of Destruction and the Original Sin Gods intercept it, but conventional divine attacks fail to breach its body 75.
The Sword of Three Realms Judgment—created specifically to kill the Golden Dragon King—nearly succeeds. Tang San intervenes and blocks the attack, claiming that the Silver Dragon King might devour the Golden Dragon King and revive the Dragon God if it dies 75. During its subsequent flight, the God of Lust's technique clouds its reason and redirects its fixation toward Tang San 76.
After regaining its senses, the Golden Dragon King escapes briefly, but Tang San injects it with Asura divine power and leaves it weakened. The God of Goodness and God of Evil then use the Sword of Three Realms Judgment to destroy its physical body 78.
Before fading, its residual will enters Yu Xiaogang through the transport passage, leaves him the Golden Dragon King God Core, and orders him to kill Tang San, destroy the God Realm, and devour the Silver Dragon King to restore the Dragon God's glory 79. Feng Yan later removes the God Core from Yu Xiaogang, discovering that it contains both the Golden Dragon King's remnant soul and most of its origin power 93.
Appearance
The Golden Dragon King first manifests within a colossal golden cocoon in the God Forbidden Land. Its true dragon form is a mountain-sized golden dragon with wings, ruby-like eyes, and an openly ferocious gaze 68 74.
- Nearly a thousand zhang long in dragon form 74.
- Golden scales possess exceptional defensive strength 75 76.
- Eyes are described as ruby-red or red with slit pupils 74 76.
- Can compress its dragon body into a humanoid form without losing its strength or defense 77.
- Human form is a burly, scarred man with red slit pupils and an intense, deranged expression 77.
Personality
The Golden Dragon King is arrogant, contemptuous of mortals, and openly hostile toward the gods who imprisoned it. It treats Yu Xiaogang as too insignificant even to merit death and considers human deities inherently untrustworthy 74.
Its goals are driven by vengeance and a sense of duty to the dragon race. Even while fleeing the Sword of Three Realms Judgment, it insists that it must survive to avenge itself, protect the dragon race and soul beasts, and restore the Dragon God's glory 76.
Despite its reputation for madness, it displays foresight by leaving behind its God Core and a remnant will after its death. It also recognizes, once awakened inside the core, that Yu Xiaogang is unlikely to have truly subdued the Silver Dragon King 79 127.
Abilities & Skills
Dragon God's Physique
The Golden Dragon King inherited the Dragon God's body, granting it extraordinary physical strength and defense.
- Withstood the God of Destruction's Divine Thunder of Destruction with only superficial scorching 75 77.
- Shattered Tang San's Unfixed Storm with its claws despite the technique's reputation as a premier God Realm control skill 76.
- Deflected Tang San's strongest single-target Golden Trident attack without significant injury 76.
- Retained its power and defense after transforming into human form 77.
- The Sword of Three Realms Judgment is its principal documented weakness; it was specifically created to destroy it 75.
Destructive Dragon Might
Its aura and divine pressure can overwhelm weaker beings without direct contact.
- A roar instantly shattered Dai Mubai's divine tiger claw and forced him to one knee 67.
- The same roar severely injured and rendered the level 91 Yu Xiaogang unconscious 67.
- Its dragon claws and movement carry enough destructive force to tear apart the God Forbidden Land 75.
Golden Dragon King God Core
After its physical death, the Golden Dragon King's power remains concentrated in its God Core.
- The core grants its bearer access to a portion of the Golden Dragon King's divine power and the potential to reach God King status 79 89.
- Yu Xiaogang uses leaked power from the core to damage Di Tian's barrier and incapacitate him with Golden Dragon King divine power 90 91.
- More than half of the Golden Dragon King's origin remains hoarded by the remnant soul within the core rather than being available to its bearer 93.
- The core contains a destructive instinct lacking self-awareness, characterized by greed, brutality, and lust; it resists Feng Yan's refinement attempts 126.
- Without its original body, the remnant soul is substantially less dangerous than the living Golden Dragon King 93.
Remnant Soul
The Golden Dragon King's surviving consciousness remains capable of thought, speech, and independent action from within the God Core.
- It leaves instructions and its God Core to Yu Xiaogang after its death 79.
- It awakens when Feng Yan injects a trace of Gu Yuena's divine power into the core 127.
- Believing the Silver Dragon King vulnerable, it immediately attempts to reach and devour her to restore the Dragon God 127.
- It later assists Feng Yan in deceiving Gu Yuena about the effects of the “Laughing Half-Step Madness” pill 130.
Artifacts & Remnants
- Golden Dragon King God Core — The vessel containing its remaining origin, divine power, destructive will, and remnant soul. It was first inherited by Yu Xiaogang before Feng Yan forcibly removed it 79 93.
- Golden Trident — Tang San's super artifact, briefly wielded by the Golden Dragon King after its escape from the God Forbidden Land 75.

- Dai Mubai — Temporary pawn during its imprisonment. Dai Mubai provides half his divine soul to break the seal, which the Golden Dragon King destroys after escaping 68 74.
- Yu Xiaogang — Chosen successor and initial bearer of its God Core. The Golden Dragon King tasks him with avenging its death and devouring the Silver Dragon King 79 89.
- Feng Yan — Seizes the God Core from Yu Xiaogang, refines its origin, and lures out its remnant soul using Gu Yuena's divine power 93 126 127.
