"Cheng'an!"
A crisp shout came from the woods in the distance. Xu Cheng'an looked up and saw the Three-Eyed Golden Lion rushing out of the trees, a huge bundle of colorful wildflowers in her arms. Her golden hair was a mess, and little smudges of mud dotted her face, making her look especially adorable.
Xiao Xiao, Zhang Lexuan, Meng Hongchen, and the others followed behind her, chatting and laughing. Each of them carried freshly picked wild vegetables and mushrooms.
"Where have you all been?" Xu Cheng'an asked casually, taking in their appearance.
"Foraging for mushrooms!" the Three-Eyed Golden Lion declared, shaking the wild vegetables in her arms. "Xiao Lu said we're having mushroom soup tonight!"
Xiao Lu.
Xu Cheng'an's mouth twitched again.
She was an ancient life deity who had lived for hundreds of millions of years, yet the Three-Eyed Golden Lion called her so casually, like a little girl next door.
And the Goddess of Life always answered, without the slightest trace of a God King's airs.
"Give those to me. I'll get them ready."
The Goddess of Life came over with a smile. She wore an elegant, gentle dress in shades of green, and her long hair was loosely pinned up. Her soft features were as warm as a spring breeze.
She took the wild vegetables and mushrooms from the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, then casually crouched down and tapped them lightly with her fingertips.
In an instant, the dirt-covered ingredients were perfectly clean, not a speck of dust on them and not a drop of excess water.
"Xiao Lu, Xiao Lu! I want to help, too!"
Xu Nianyue immediately hopped down from Xu Cheng'an's arms and pattered over to the Goddess of Life. She looked up with her soft, fair face, her violet-gold eyes shining with eager anticipation.
