Silverymoon was known as the Pearl of the North, and that was no empty boast. At the very least, nowhere else in the North did any nation or city gather so many spellcasters. From the very start of the battle, the Kingdom of Silverymoon's coven and a group of conscripted spellcasters had begun unleashing magic without mercy.

Nearly six hundred spellcasters had gathered along the various sections of Silverymoon's walls!

Yet the magical bombardment was not particularly effective, because the orcs also had spellcasting units: priests from the Church of the Dead Three. In order to take Silverymoon, the Church of the Dead Three had gathered virtually every priest in the North—an entire thousand priests!

These priests of the Dead Three were different from the priests of Silverymoon's various churches. They did not need to concern themselves with wounded soldiers. They did not care how many worthless grunts died, so the priests of the Dead Three were basically used as offensive units.

Silverymoon's priests were different. Their primary duty was still healing the wounded and saving lives. After all, Black Orcs were not like humans. If Silverymoon did not have these priests tending to the wounded, it would have collapsed long ago. Silverymoon had too few people to withstand the same level of attrition as the Black Orcs.

Thus, very few of Silverymoon's priests were actually standing on the walls fighting the enemy. Most remained in the rear, healing the wounded in the hope of getting them back onto the battlefield sooner.

In any other city, so many priests gathered together would have been enough to blast open the walls, even against six hundred spellcasters.

Unfortunately, this was Silverymoon. Not only did it have a vast number of spellcasters, it also possessed the ancient elves' greatest magical creation—the mythal!
