The Iron Wastes, the twenty-third layer of the Abyss.
This was a plane of ice, snow, and endless ruins. Collapsed, destroyed cities stood everywhere, while not a trace of soil could be seen in the wilderness beyond—only a thick sheet of ice. Countless frost giant tribes were scattered across the icy plains.
Winter wolves and white dragons were the most common creatures on this plane apart from frost giants. Packs of winter wolves roamed the wilderness, strictly carrying out Kostchtchie's will: all creatures that were not frost giants had to die.
Meanwhile, groups of white dragons gathered amid the ruins of cities. Mountains of treasure gleamed there, while countless mortals and other creatures were thrown into the ruins as slaves. Their work included clearing rubble, building homes for frost giants, and being eaten as food.
Demons held an appallingly low status here. Kostchtchie allowed mortals and other humanoid creatures to survive temporarily as slaves, but demons were not so fortunate. Any demon discovered here had only one fate: death.
Naturally, demon corpses were not wasted either. They became food, served upon frost giant dining tables.
Kostchtchie hated Tanar'ri demons so deeply that, although he himself was a Tanar'ri demon, he did not consider himself one in the slightest. He had always believed himself to be a frost giant and firmly believed that he was the savior of all frost giants, that frost giants would rise under his leadership.
Naturally, that notion was mocked on every plane.
In truth, frost giants across the planes also held Kostchtchie in contempt. There was no other reason: he was simply too ugly... Though frost giants were not exactly a race that judged by appearances, Kostchtchie's reputation had spread throughout the multiverse. He had become the ultimate synonym for ugliness and stupidity.
