Eluvia was the most senior of the Radiant Sisters, so her connections were broader than those of the others. In the world of demons, connections were not necessarily useful—after all, surviving in the Abyss ultimately depended on one's own strength. If your strength was lacking, nothing else mattered. But without connections, it was equally impossible to get anywhere.

Even Demogorgon, who had once crushed the entire Abyss beneath his feet, had several steadfast allies. During the struggle among the three great powers, Demogorgon stood at the very peak in terms of strength. In a one-on-one fight, he could absolutely kill either of the other two giants.

Yet because Graz'zt had an exceptionally capable subordinate, Graz'zt's strongest and longest-lasting ally was Verin, an incomparably cunning demon lord. Serving as Graz'zt's diplomat, Verin used his silver tongue to bring Graz'zt many allies who had originally been unwilling to join the Dark Prince.

Because of him, Graz'zt and Orcus developed an understanding: whenever one of them was suppressed by Demogorgon, the other would immediately strike at Demogorgon's base. This forced Demogorgon to retreat empty-handed.

And Verin could accomplish this precisely because of his connections. He might have been the best-connected demon in the entire Abyss. He had acquaintances on practically every layer of the Abyss and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Even among demons, that was something of a miracle.

This showed just how important connections could be.

Although Eluvia's network could not compare to Verin's, it was still extraordinary. She had close personal ties with many demon lords, the most famous among them being the goblin demon lord Gab Newell, the executioner Makatula, and the abyssal dragon Black Karzalanos.

Even more interestingly, these three demon lords occupied the same plane. Together, they ruled the Abyss's third layer, the Forgotten Land.
