These demons were just as bizarre and varied. If there was any difference from the previous ones, the biggest was that they were much larger.

And by larger, that meant ten times larger. Each of these newly appeared insectoid demons was dozens or even hundreds of times the size of the previous bugs. Not only were they enormous, they were no longer crude amalgamations of various insects, but finely crafted creatures.

Although these insectoid demons still possessed many insect-like traits, they at least had a recognizable form. Unlike the previous ones, which were chaotically cobbled together and among millions, one could hardly find a single one worth looking at, these gigantic insectoid demons were different. They were still savage and horrifying, but at least they remained within the bounds of what was acceptable.

These demons could roughly be divided into three types. The first resembled enormous caterpillars. Their lower bodies were blackish-brown grub-like forms, with dozens of pairs of hard prolegs constantly churning through the soil to support their advance. Though their movements looked incredibly clumsy, they were actually quite fast.

The front halves of their bodies resembled praying mantises, with a pair of sickle-shaped forelimbs that stood out sharply. The cold gleam flashing from them proclaimed their ability to cut through anything. Their thoraxes and abdomens were covered in hard, spiked carapaces, especially their backs, where huge, heavy shells bristled with massive spikes. Green fluid constantly dripped from those spikes, and the moment it struck the ground, it produced sizzling corrosive sounds. Clearly, the substance was extremely corrosive!

Countless armor-piercing bone spikes were hidden within the bony plates beneath the Hydra Worms' carapaces. Driven by astonishingly powerful muscles, these bone spikes could be launched at tremendous speed, with an effective range of one hundred meters.
