Although they had ultimately been subdued by Leman Russ, their numbers had fallen to fewer than three hundred. However, their quality had improved by a tremendous margin. The Chaos Prototypes in particular had originally been products of failed evolution—roughly resembling the Chaos Spawn found on battlefields. They knew nothing but slaughter. They felt no fear, nor did they possess the survival instincts of living creatures. Once their master, Leman Russ, gave the order, the only thing they did was charge at the enemy and destroy everything they saw!
With Leman Russ, Clarks, and Mortarion arriving with reinforcements, the tide of battle immediately turned! Countless mid-ranking demons had little room to resist these ferocious monsters. They were beaten into disarray, their defeat becoming increasingly obvious.
