"Xin'er!"
Ning Xiaochuan caught up, retracted the Rage Wind Wings, and landed on the ground, staring at Ning Xiner from afar.
Hearing Ning Xiaochuan call out, Ning Xiner hurriedly wiped away her tears. She turned around in disbelief and stared at the graceful young man standing in the distance. Tears began streaming uncontrollably from her eyes.
"Brother!"
Ning Xiner flung herself into Ning Xiaochuan's arms, her small hands tightly clutching him, as though he would vanish the moment she let go.
"Brother, is it really you? You're not deceiving Xin'er, are you? You haven't turned into a ghost to scare Xin'er, have you?" Ning Xiner raised her tear-streaked face and stared fixedly at Ning Xiaochuan, then reached out to repeatedly touch his face.
Only after confirming that Ning Xiaochuan was truly alive did she burst into tears. "I overheard those martial artists taking the assessment say that you were killed by a Supreme Sword Dao martial artist with a single sword strike, that you fell from the mountaintop and your body was nowhere to be found. But I refused to believe it. I searched and searched, looking through the mountains every day, wanting only to find Brother's remains and bring them back to the Marquis Mansion for burial. Xin'er couldn't bear to leave Brother behind. Xin'er would never abandon Brother, never!"
Ning Xiaochuan's heart was moved. He gently stroked her hair and said, "I was saved by a senior expert and didn't fall to my death in the mountains. Right, weren't you knocked into the waterfall by Yao Jindao, Zhuo Yichan, and Hua Ruyue? How did you escape death?"
Ning Xiner glanced at Little Red Dragon and said, "When I fell from the top of the waterfall, I happened to land on Little Red Dragon's back, so I escaped disaster."
