Suspended in midair, Lu Ye hastily adjusted his posture and landed awkwardly. His legs gave out, and with a thud, he dropped to one knee.
"Oh my!" someone exclaimed before him. "Everything was fine, so why are you paying such a grand salute?"
Hearing that voice, Lu Ye's eye twitched. He looked up to find Hua Ci smiling at him.
"Give me a hand. I can't get up..."
A moment later, Lu Ye had settled down on the third floor of the wooden house. While Hua Ci treated his injuries, he had already fallen into a deep sleep.
He had fought battle after battle over the past several days, with scarcely any time to rest. He was truly exhausted.
The little wooden house in Myriad Poison Forest had become a genuine refuge. Outside, enemies surrounded him on all sides; wherever he went, groups of Myriad Demon Ridge Cultivators hunted him down, hacking and pounding at him. Only upon returning here could he truly relax.
