Fellow Daoist Xie, as Zhou Yuntian called him, was Xie Yunhan, a middle-aged man who looked to be around forty. He was short and slight, with the cultivation of the Cloud River Stage, Seventh Layer.
At such an age and with such cultivation, one thing was clear: Xie Yunhan's aptitude for cultivation was not high. It could even be called poor.
There was a special kind of cultivator in the Spirit Stream Battlefield, known to the world as veteran Tier Nines. Limited by their aptitude, once they had opened 180 Apertures, their cultivation could scarcely advance any further. Yet the minimum requirement for a cultivator to advance to the Cloud River Realm was to open 240 Apertures and switch to a Heaven-Grade Cultivation Technique. Thus, these veteran Tier Nines could never advance into the Cloud River Realm and could only waste away at Tier Nine.

So long as a cultivator's luck was not too terrible and they were not too indolent, their cultivation would always improve bit by bit.
Rare did not mean nonexistent, however. Everyone's aptitude was different, and naturally, so too was the speed of their cultivation.
Generally speaking, while the Cloud River Battlefield did not have cultivators whose cultivation had completely stagnated like those veteran Tier Nines, there were still some middle-aged faces. They were simply few in number.
Xie Yunhan was undoubtedly one of them. In all of Fox Immortal Valley, he was the oldest, yet his cultivation was not the highest.
