Fishing Island was not small—at the very least, it was larger than most Spirit Islands Lu Ye had seen. Yet it was actually a Barren Island, occupied by no force whatsoever.
The main reason was naturally that there was no Spirit Jade Vein on the island, making it worthless to occupy.
There were many Barren Islands like Fishing Island in the Myriad Phenomena Sea. Some had also become Strongholds for certain forces or groups, where outsiders were forbidden from entering at will, lest it be taken as a provocation.
However, the Anglers had always been an extremely loose organization from ancient times to the present, so entry and exit here were not prohibited.
When Lu Ye arrived, he saw quite a few people gathered there. Those holding fishing gear and standing quietly by the island's edge, their gazes fixed unblinkingly on some spot upon the sea, were undoubtedly Anglers in the midst of fishing.
Others were not fishing, but strolling around and looking about. Lu Ye guessed that, like himself, they had come out of interest to observe.
The Anglers stood widely scattered, each at least a hundred zhang from the others. The cultivators observing nearby never approached them either, likewise watching from a hundred zhang away.
It was clear that everyone here, whether Angler or spectator, silently abided by a certain unwritten rule.
Lu Ye looked around, then casually chose an Angler and hovered a hundred zhang to his side, making sure the man could catch sight of him from the corner of his eye.
It would not do to stand behind him. That would easily arouse hostility. If someone kept staring at Lu Ye from behind, he would not like it either.
Though he did not know much about the rules here, he at least understood the basics
