Lu Ye stared, dumbfounded. Only now did he understand what dangers lurked within that pink nebula. Such an attack was something even Yaya probably could not withstand, let alone him.

Yet the Azure Bird seemed utterly unaware. It paid no heed to the frenzied assault of the many pink tentacles, allowing them to lash against its body. Rings of azure light flashed across its feathers, blocking the tentacles' wild attacks, while its pair of talons kept raking below.

No one knew how long it busied itself, but the pink nebula actually split open from within. Then the Azure Bird lowered its beak and pecked down. Lu Ye did not see what exactly it had caught, only vaguely glimpsing something like an enormous pink worm being plucked into its mouth and swallowed with its head thrown back.

After the Azure Bird swallowed that pink worm-like thing, the pink tentacles that had been relentlessly attacking it seemed to lose all strength. They drooped limply and melted back into the nebula.

The Azure Bird, however, seemed drunk. Its body swayed drunkenly from side to side, its wings fluttered a few times, and after wobbling for a while, it finally sprawled atop the nebula without moving.
