Lu Ye walked to the window, lifted the hanging red curtain, and looked outside. Streams of multicolored light darted and drifted beyond, like schools of fish. Beams of light were constantly cast away, while new ones were born. The world outside looked bizarre and phantasmagorical.

"This sedan is moving at an utterly terrifying speed..." Nine Radiance said. Then she shook her head. "No, it shouldn't be called movement. It is traversing space. What you see before you is merely the phenomenon caused by its passage through space."
"Where is it going?" Lu Ye asked.
"I don't know." Nine Radiance wanted to figure out where it was headed as well, but she had not found the slightest clue so far.
Lu Ye went to the window on the other side and looked out. The scene was the same there. He was deeply shaken. From within the sedan, he could not sense the slightest trace of movement. The space inside was incomparably stable, as though it truly were nothing more than an enclosed carriage compartment.
