"What was he doing?"
At one section of Long Cloud Island's defenses, Chu Li looked at one of his subordinate cultivators, utterly baffled.
The cultivator replied, "Ever since Inspector Lu left this area, he has been provoking the enemies in the Blood River all around the island."
"Provoking them?" Chu Li was even more confused.

Chu Li stood there in a daze, unable to make sense of what Lu Ye was doing.
Lu Ye was certainly strong, but the enemies were hiding within the Blood River. What effect could slashing saber light into it possibly have? Calling it a provocation was likely giving it too much credit. If anything, he was merely wasting his own strength.

Chu Li had assumed he was gathering Dao Fish for the coming battle. Yet from the looks of things now, this fellow was simply squandering his Dao Power. What he was doing was all effort for no gain.
Even if each slash did not consume much Dao Power, after enough repetitions, the expenditure would still be enormous.
Naturally, Chu Li did not think Lu Ye had gone mad. Though they had known each other only briefly, Lu Ye did not strike him as foolish. Since he was doing
