Ch. 1944Do You Want to Die That Badly?

Lu Ye charged alone into the Black Scarf vanguard, slaughtering hundreds before Zhou Ping arrived with reinforcements, and killed Fang Kuang when the commander attacked him from behind. The army broke and fled, while the Old Patriarch learned that Lu Ye’s trial required him to defeat the Black Scarf Army and protect Ding'an.

  • Lu Ye charged through the Black Scarf Army, killing hundreds while the Old Patriarch and others watched anxiously through a mirror.
  • Zhou Ping led soldiers and volunteer cultivators to reinforce Lu Ye, and Fang Kuang split his forces to face them while hiding among his men.
  • Fang Kuang ambushed Lu Ye from behind, but Lu Ye’s Spiritual Power shield stopped the spear, and Lu Ye killed Fang Kuang with a thrust to the chest.
  • Zhou Ping announced Fang Kuang’s death, and the Black Scarf Army’s remaining soldiers fled as Lu Ye and the others pursued them.
  • The Old Patriarch recovered after nearly collapsing from the tension, then learned that Lu Ye’s trial mission was to defeat the Black Scarf Army and ensure Ding'an’s safety.

Ch. 1945Preparing

After defeating the Black Scarves' vanguard, Lu Ye advanced to Spirit Stream First Layer and prepared to strengthen Ding'an against the enemy's larger army. He gathered the city's Black-Green Stone and began forging a Shared Breath, Connected Branches Formation Plate with a local blacksmith's help.

  • Lu Ye returned to Ding'an and cultivated until he opened his ninth Spiritual Aperture, reaching Spirit Stream First Layer.
  • Lu Ye questioned Zhou Ping about the Black Scarves and learned that their forces numbered around ten thousand, despite the vanguard's defeat.
  • Lu Ye had Zhou Ping collect and smelt all the city's Black-Green Stone.
  • Lu Ye brought the chief blacksmith to the ironworks and began making a Shared Breath, Connected Branches Formation Plate, using inferior Spirit Stones to replenish his Spiritual Power.

Ch. 1946What a Sin!

Lu Ye forged Formation Plates that linked cultivators’ auras and helped them form combat formations, then led a hundred riders from Ding'an to strike the Black Scarf Army at Qianliu City. His force rested fifty li from the city while scouting the battle, preparing for a decisive surprise attack.

  • Lu Ye forged twenty Formation Plates, and Zhou Ping discovered that they let cultivators share Spiritual Power.
  • Lu Ye demonstrated the Black Tortoise Formation and taught the Ding'an cultivators to use Formation Plates in formations.
  • Lu Ye led a hundred riders out of Ding'an toward Qianliu City, prompting the Old Patriarch to worry that he had disrupted the trial’s expected course.
  • The Old Patriarch’s companion argued that Lu Ye could join Qianliu City’s defenders in a pincer attack, and the Old Patriarch accepted her reasoning.
  • Lu Ye’s force reached the area near Qianliu after three days and rested fifty li from the city while scouting the situation.

Ch. 1947Are We This Strong?

Lu Ye led a cavalry force of just over a hundred riders from Ding'an to aid Qianliu while the Black Scarf Army launched another assault. The riders charged straight through the enemy ranks, and their overwhelming momentum left them convinced of their strength as they reached the heart of the army.

  • Lu Ye learned that Qianliu was still resisting the Black Scarf Army and hid his force until the enemy launched another attack two days later.
  • Lu Ye led his mounted fighters toward Qianliu as the Black Scarves bombarded the city and assaulted its east gate.
  • Xie Li recognized Lu Ye's approaching cavalry as the force from Ding'an, but wondered whether so few riders could make a difference.
  • Lu Ye's cavalry broke through a five-hundred-man Black Scarf unit and then formed an arrowhead to charge into the army's heart.
  • The Formation Plate kept the riders' Spiritual Power consumption low, allowing them to maintain their charge and build confidence as they inflicted heavy losses.

Ch. 1948Such a Reckless Fool

Lu Ye led his cavalry through the Black Scarf Army, repeatedly turning away from the safety of Thousand Streams’ open gates and helping its defenders hold the east gate. When the Black Scarf leader finally confronted him, Lu Ye defeated him but deliberately spared his life, leaving Xie Li baffled.

  • Xie Li opened Thousand Streams’ east gate to receive Lu Ye’s cavalry, but Lu Ye veered away, leaving the gate exposed to the Black Scarf Army.
  • Lu Ye’s cavalry charged back and forth around the gate, clearing the attackers long enough for Xie Li to close it before they resumed their assault on the enemy.
  • Xie Li urged Lu Ye to target the Black Scarf leader, but Lu Ye avoided him until the leader concealed his banner and later confronted the cavalry with his personal guards.
  • Lu Ye used a powerful attack to disarm and defeat the Black Scarf leader, then pierced his collarbone and flung him away instead of killing him.
  • Xie Li watched Lu Ye spare the Black Scarf leader and could not understand why.

Ch. 1949Terrifying Gains

Lu Ye helped Qianliu City defeat the Black Scarf Army, then completed the trial and returned to the Asura Arena with more than fourteen million Asura Seals. After meeting Abuluo and Gu Sheng, he heard that they had a proposal that could make him rich.

  • Xie Li opened Qianliu City's gates, and the city's defenders joined Lu Ye's cavalry in routing the Black Scarf Army.
  • Lu Ye killed the captured Black Scarf leader, ending the trial and restoring his original strength.
  • Lu Ye returned to his Cave Abode and discovered that his Asura Seals had risen to more than fourteen million.
  • Lu Ye took two bounty missions, then met Abuluo and Gu Sheng in a private room at the Bounty Hall.
  • Abuluo asked Lu Ye if he wanted to get rich, and Lu Ye agreed to hear their proposal.

Ch. 1950A Fortune Road Worth Eighty Million

Lu Ye agreed to join Gu Sheng and Abuluo in a trial scenario tied to an eighty-million-Asura-Seal bounty, where they hoped to defeat an ancient Artificer Armor and uncover reliable information about the Asura Arena. After the agreement, Lu Ye tried to reclaim his Fate Dice through the Asura Treasure Vault, but it could not be reclaimed.

  • Abuluo revealed that Gu Sheng knew clues about the bounty for reliable information on the Asura Arena’s location, and Gu Sheng explained that the clues led to a dangerous trial scenario.
  • Gu Sheng asked Lu Ye to join him and Abuluo in fighting an ancient Artificer Armor, explaining that the three could enter the scenario together and that he would take half the reward while Lu Ye and Abuluo split the rest.
  • Lu Ye accepted the partnership, and the three signed an Asura Contract requiring them to cooperate and abide by the agreed division of rewards.
  • After Gu Sheng and Abuluo left, Lu Ye took the Fate Dice to the Asura Treasure Vault and tried to exchange it for Asura Seals, but the vault did not reclaim it.
  • Lu Ye examined the Sword Gourd and learned that it was one of seven subordinate treasures of the Creation Vine, then kept both treasures after the Fate Dice proved impossible to reclaim.

Ch. 1951I Need an Explanation

Lu Ye entered a special trial with Gu Sheng and Abuluo but was separated from them and led through a mysterious doorway by A Qiduo. She revealed that she was a living member of the hidden Heavenly Asura race, leaving Lu Ye seeking an explanation for how she had brought him there.

  • Gu Sheng used the crystal shard to take Lu Ye and Abuluo into a special trial, but Lu Ye found himself alone in endless darkness.
  • Lu Ye followed a mysterious voice through a door of light and nearly struck down A Qiduo before recognizing her from the Zhongyou Realm trial.
  • A Qiduo explained that the Heavenly Asura race had survived in hiding after a curse poisoned its bloodline and shortened its younger members' lifespans.
  • A Qiduo revealed her silver hair and eyes and formally introduced herself as a member of the Heavenly Asura race.

Ch. 1952The Heavenly Asura Clan That Had Been Waiting All Along

Lu Ye learned that the Heavenly Asura Clan had secretly tested him and brought him to their secluded home because they believed the Dao Tree Lineage could cure their Bloodline Curse Poison. The clan’s Patriarch, Mi Shi, greeted him and appealed to his compassion, while Lu Ye considered what he might gain by helping them.

  • A Qiduo told Lu Ye that the Heavenly Asura Clan had waited for a Dao Tree inheritor, and that two previous inheritors had failed or been too dangerous to approach.
  • A Qiduo explained that the clan had watched Lu Ye through the Bounty Hall and arranged his trials to test his character, including the Asura Seals and the suppression of his cultivation.
  • Lu Ye realized that A Qiduo’s injury and his cure of her Bloodline Curse Poison had confirmed him as the clan’s hoped-for savior.
  • Lu Ye asked to meet the clan’s Patriarch, and Mi Shi suddenly appeared and introduced himself.
  • Mi Shi apologized for the clan’s secrecy and praised Lu Ye for protecting the women from Great Wind Mountain, saying he believed Lu Ye would help the suffering clan.

Ch. 1953The Heavenly Asura Clan's Reward

Lu Ye agreed to cure the Bloodline Curse Poison for fifteen hundred members of the Heavenly Asura clan in exchange for their help and access to clan resources. Mi Shi promised him the Asura Arena Sub-Treasure first, while Lu Ye watched Abuluo and Gu Sheng search for him in another trial scene.

  • Mi Shi offered Lu Ye compensation for saving the Heavenly Asura clan, explaining that he could grant the Asura Arena Sub-Treasure but other vault resources required Asura Seals, discounted to clan rates.
  • Mi Shi told Lu Ye that the clan had a little over ten thousand members and needed him to resolve the Bloodline Curse Poison for fifteen hundred of them.
  • Lu Ye agreed to the deal and asked Mi Shi to provide the Asura Arena Sub-Treasure before he began his work.
  • Mi Shi produced an Asura Contract, and Lu Ye accepted its terms after adding his condition that he receive the Sub-Treasure first.
  • A Qiduo showed Lu Ye a mirror reflecting Abuluo and Gu Sheng searching for him in the trial scene, and Lu Ye chose not to answer their messages.

Ch. 1954Asura Arena Sub-Treasure Acquired

Lu Ye acquired the Asura Arena Sub-Treasure and fulfilled his contract by removing Mi Shi’s Bloodline Curse Poison. The Heavenly Asura Patriarch gained renewed life and promised to help Lu Ye in the future, while A Qiduo’s records suggested the curse may have begun after a war with the Gan Race.

  • A Qiduo explained that many supposed clues to the Asura Arena were deliberately planted, and she told Lu Ye the Fate Dice did not react because their secluded scenario was not a trial ground.
  • The ten-billion-Asura-Seal Asura Arena Sub-Treasure disappeared from the treasury, astonishing cultivators who gathered to see it was gone.
  • Lu Ye and Mi Shi signed the Asura Contract, and the Heavenly Asuras supplied Lu Ye with Fire Attribute treasures to replenish the Talent Tree fuel needed to treat their people.
  • As Lu Ye treated Mi Shi, A Qiduo recalled records linking the Bloodline Curse Poison to an ancient war against the Gan Race; Mi Shi also remembered that the Heavenly Asuras had once governed a branch of the Merfolk Race.
  • Lu Ye burned away Mi Shi’s Bloodline Curse Poison, restoring his vitality and stabilizing his cultivation, and Mi Shi promised to aid Lu Ye whenever he could.

Ch. 1955Sea River Tower

While treating the Heavenly Asura Race’s Bloodline Curse Poison, Lu Ye explored Sea River Tower and uncovered ancient records about a calamity involving a gate, the Blood Ancestor, and Square Inch Mountain. The records ended with an account of the battle’s aftermath and a final warning about what lay beyond the gate, leaving Lu Ye stunned by the starry sky’s hidden history.

  • Lu Ye watched Abuluo and Gu Sheng destroy the Human-Heart Artificer Armor, only to find that the guarded location held no Asura Arena item.
  • Lu Ye asked A Qiduo to investigate Ma Bin, but she could not search for someone at Sunlight cultivation.
  • Lu Ye followed A Qiduo to Sea River Tower and began examining its neglected, fragmentary Jade Slips while continuing to treat the Heavenly Asura clansmen.
  • Lu Ye discovered a Jade Slip describing a shattered gate, strange monsters from an abyss, and a Sunlight cultivator who died after comprehending the Dao too late.
  • Lu Ye found records of the Blood Ancestor’s attack, her battle with Square Inch Mountain’s Dao Child, and the treasure’s destruction before the writer departed beyond the gate.

Ch. 1956Asura Summoning Token

After months of treating the Heavenly Asura Race and searching Sea River Tower for ancient records, Lu Ye received an Asura Summoning Token from Yu Yaorao, who was in danger during a trial. He learned that his strength would be suppressed if he answered the summons, and Yu Yaorao explained the threat as she waited to see whether he would help.

  • Lu Ye spent over half a year helping hundreds of Heavenly Asura Race members cure their Bloodline Curse Poison and found no further ancient records in Sea River Tower.
  • Yu Yaorao and Wanzi were cornered by a group of cultivators after their allies were killed, and Yu Yaorao asked Wanzi to stall them while she prepared a jade token.
  • Wanzi stepped out to distract the pursuing cultivators, while Yu Yaorao wrote Lu Ye's name on the token and activated it with her blood.
  • Lu Ye received Yu Yaorao's summons while treating a Heavenly Asura Race cultivator, and A Qiduo explained that the token would suppress his strength to the level of the trial scene.
  • Yu Yaorao described her danger and the enemies surrounding her, uncertain whether Lu Ye would answer after she had received little response from him for months.

Ch. 1957The Human Heart Is Hard to Fathom

Yu Yaorao was ambushed by nearly a hundred enemies and learned that her Senior Sister Yu Hong had betrayed her and arranged her death. Lu Ye answered her Asura Summoning Token and appeared just as she was about to kill herself, leaving him facing the attackers.

  • Yu Yaorao's hiding place was destroyed, and the attackers surrounded her and the captured Wanzi.
  • Yu Hong revealed that she had recommended Yu Yaorao for the Primordial Realm expedition, hoping she would die there, and arranged the current ambush out of jealousy over Yu Gong.
  • As the burly man moved to seize Yu Yaorao, she tried to take her own life rather than be captured.
  • Lu Ye appeared through the Asura Summoning Token and knocked the burly man back, while Yu Yaorao broke down in relief at his arrival.
  • Yu Hong ordered the burly man to attack Lu Ye, but he rejected her orders.

Ch. 1958Kill

The Fate Dice bestowed terrifying killing intent on Lu Ye during Yu Yaorao’s trial, letting him slaughter the Star Constellations who had betrayed her and kill Yu Hong. After Yu Yaorao broke down in grief and the trial ended, Lu Ye returned to Sea River Tower to help the Heavenly Asuras.

  • The Fate Dice rolled a kill character, surrounding Lu Ye with a frightening aura that disrupted his enemies’ minds.
  • Lu Ye shielded Yu Yaorao and killed the burly man before cutting down more than a hundred Star Constellations in moments.
  • Lu Ye killed the captor who had held Wanzi hostage, and Wanzi survived after he shoved her away from the saber.
  • Yu Yaorao asked Lu Ye to kill Yu Hong, and he stabbed her before Yu Yaorao collapsed into Wanzi’s embrace and wept.
  • The trial ended, and Lu Ye returned to Sea River Tower to treat the Heavenly Asuras’ Bloodline Curse Poison.

Ch. 1959Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

Lu Ye completed his obligation to the Heavenly Asura Race and continued studying the records in Sea River Tower, where he finally found a damaged Jade Slip about the Three Flowers Method. It confirmed his progress toward the Body Flower and Qi Flower, but showed that perfecting his Magic Source would demand immense resources.

  • A Qiduo told Lu Ye that he had cured the Bloodline Curse Poison for all one thousand five hundred clansmen required by his Asura Contract, and offered to guide him out and back into the secluded scene.
  • Lu Ye found a damaged Jade Slip describing a cultivator who had reached his limit while waiting for a mysterious gate to open, and read of Senior Brother Xun Yun, who had cultivated the Ancient Method and comprehended the Dao.
  • Lu Ye ignored a Moon Jade Battle Arena challenge because his rank had fallen beyond the top five hundred during his time in seclusion.
  • Lu Ye completed a normal trial and earned fewer than two hundred thousand Asura Seals, then asked A Qiduo to guide him back to Sea River Tower.
  • Lu Ye discovered a Jade Slip titled “Ancient Method: Secret of the Three Flowers” and learned that he had taken the right steps toward condensing the Body Flower and Qi Flower, though perfecting his Magic Source required vast resources.

Ch. 1960The Asura Arena Is Closing

Lu Ye learned that Mi Shi’s breakthrough to Sunlight had triggered the Asura Arena’s temporary closure, leaving him only a short time to spend his accumulated Asura Seals. The chapter ended with Mi Shi giving Lu Ye a gift of resources and Lu Ye hurrying to the treasure vault before the Arena closed.

  • The Asura Arena abruptly expelled all cultivators, and A Qiduo summoned Lu Ye to the Heavenly Asura Race’s Cave Abode.
  • Lu Ye discovered that Mi Shi had emerged from seclusion rejuvenated and advanced to Sunlight.
  • Mi Shi explained that an ancestor’s contingency had made the Asura Arena expel outsiders when a Heavenly Asura cultivator first reached Sunlight, and that it would no longer admit outsiders after reopening.
  • Mi Shi told Lu Ye the Arena would close in about the time it took to burn one stick of incense and gave him a Storage Ring of resources from the Heavenly Asura Race.
  • Lu Ye accepted the gift, said farewell to Mi Shi and A Qiduo, and rushed off to exchange his Asura Seals.

Ch. 1961It's Here

Lu Ye exchanged his Asura Seals for treasures to enhance his Magic Source while Yu Yaorao waited in his Cave Abode. When the Asura Arena closed, the two were transported to an unfamiliar, apparently empty realm, leaving Lu Ye wondering where the other cultivators had gone.

  • Yu Yaorao visited Lu Ye's Cave Abode, and he urged her to use any Asura Seals she still had before entering the treasury.
  • Lu Ye exchanged his remaining Asura Seals for Magic Source treasures at half price, then returned to find Yu Yaorao flustered and trying to leave.
  • Lu Ye stopped Yu Yaorao as the Asura Arena closed, and they were swept together through streams of multicolored light.
  • Lu Ye and Yu Yaorao landed in a low-level, apparently uninhabited realm, and they discovered their Asura Tokens were gone.
  • Lu Ye asked Yu Yaorao to contact her people from the Nine Profound Star System so they could learn where the other cultivators had gone.

Ch. 1962Utterly Unlucky

After the Asura Arena expelled its cultivators into an unknown region, Lu Ye and Yu Yaorao searched for a way home amid growing conflicts. The chapter ended as Lu Ye faced an approaching Sunlight cultivator and heard someone call out to Ma Bin.

  • Yu Yaorao could not contact her acquaintances, and Lu Ye failed to reach the Soul Race Ancestral Land, so he and Yu Yaorao set out to find their location.
  • Lu Ye met another cultivator who had been expelled from the Asura Arena, exchanged Sound Talisman imprints with him, and continued traveling with Yu Yaorao.
  • As conflicts broke out among the expelled cultivators, Lu Ye steered clear of a Star Constellation battle and later changed course to avoid fighting Sunlight cultivators.
  • When a Sunlight aura rapidly approached, Lu Ye opened a gateway to the Little Flower Realm and ordered Yu Yaorao inside.
  • Lu Ye prepared to use a Red Talisman as a distant voice taunted Ma Bin for fleeing.

Ch. 1963Ma Bin!

Lu Ye encountered Ma Bin while the powerful Sunlight cultivator was fleeing pursuers, and Ma Bin turned back to fight after sensing Lu Ye in his path. After reuniting with Nan Lian and Hetao, Lu Ye learned that Ma Bin escaped the encirclement and was known as the Azure Demon King, a feared killer of Sunlights.

  • Lu Ye recognized the fleeing Ma Bin as the senior from the former Nine Provinces and realized Ma Bin had turned back to keep the battle from reaching him.
  • Lu Ye released Yu Yaorao from the Little Flower Realm after fleeing the battle, then met Nan Lian and Hetao on a nearby meteorite.
  • Nan Lian watched the battle and announced that Ma Bin had fought his way out of the encirclement.
  • Nan Lian told Lu Ye and Hetao that Ma Bin was called the Azure Demon King and had killed more than twenty Sunlights by assassinating them in their realms.
