The crowd's mockery made Dai Mubai's face flush, then pale.
He couldn't believe Xiao Wu and the others were taking the man's side.

Zhu Qing gave a soft, mocking laugh. Then, under Dai Mubai's stare, she walked over to Wu Xing, wrapped her arms around his, and nestled against him.
Only then did she say, unhurriedly, "Didn't you just ask what kind of relationship he and I have? Then I'll tell you. Wu Xing and I are just putting on an act too."
Zhu Qing had had enough of Dai Mubai's excuses.
