The rain over the Land of Rain never knew peace.
Cold rain lashed Deva Path Pain's cheeks with a relentless patter, but it could not wash away the fury churning around him.
He hovered in midair, looking down at the figures before him, his body rigid beneath his black cloak with suppressed rage.
Those Rinnegan, said to reverse life and death, were fixed on the masked man and Zetsu beside him. "Madara, don't you owe me an explanation?!"
There was little emotion on Zetsu's half-black, half-Haku face as he replied casually, "It was only a probe. Who would have thought little Konoha had so much lurking beneath the surface?"
Obito remained silent.
Unseen irritation roiled in the single eye beneath his mask—Hyuga Seigo, Uchiha Hikari, Otsutsuki Jingze... Each unexpected variable struck him like a slap to the face, making him feel like a pathetic clown.
"Madara!"
Pain's low voice burst through the rain, his oppressive presence bearing down on the other man like a physical weight. "What are you and Zetsu plotting behind my back?! Why did you suddenly attack Konoha's Hyuga Clan?"
Rainwater ran down the grooves of the mask.
Obito still said nothing, as though the accusations before him were no more than insignificant noise amid the wind and rain.
Konan, standing nearby, also stared at the masked figure, her eyes full of restrained displeasure. This man who called himself "Madara" acted on his own time and again. When had he ever behaved like a partner?
"Akatsuki was supposed to remain in the shadows and advance the plan step by step!" Pain's voice abruptly rose, a trace of crimson flashing in his Rinnegan.
"Your reckless actions have completely upset the balance and gone against our agreed course!
You even exposed Akatsuki's existence!"
He paused, his tone growing colder.
