Qingwu covered his face, his fingertips burning—his unreliable emotional perception had gone into overdrive today, and somehow it had gotten tangled up with Ino's mental fluctuations.
Great. The two girls' mental world was playing out like a little stage show, and every bit of it was pouring into his head.
He could even "see" Ino's spirit form standing with one hand on her hip, holding Sakura's spirit form in her other hand and swinging her around like a street thug teasing a young girl. Her smug satisfaction practically spilled through the mental barrier.
"Seriously, Ino? Since when did you become such an experienced flirt..." Qingwu ducked his head even lower, wishing he could crawl into a crack in the ground. Unfortunately, his hearing was sharp, and the comments from the various villages' ninja in the stands only made things more embarrassing—
"Huh? Why wasn't Sakura moving? She was standing there like a wooden post, and her face kept turning red and pale!" Naruto asked cluelessly. He genuinely didn't understand.
He really never paid attention to this sort of thing.
"Ino looked weird too. She was kneeling there, sleeping like a baby, while Sakura looked like she was having a fit, scratching her face one second and waving her arms the next!"
"Were those two competing in ninjutsu or seeing who could be more dramatic? My stomach hurt from laughing! Hahahaha!"
Shikamaru watched Naruto carry on.
He quietly committed those remarks to memory, planning to tell Ino and Sakura. What happened to Naruto afterward was none of his concern.
