Using Chidori on Kakashi Hatake would feel pretty satisfying, wouldn't it?

Yuki Yuichi turned his gaze toward Kakashi Hatake, who was dragging Might Guy along up ahead.

Suddenly, Kakashi Hatake felt a chill run down his back. He whipped around to look, but all he saw was Yuki Yuichi gazing at him with a puzzled expression.

Kakashi Hatake looked around for a while longer, then thought to himself, It must have been my imagination.

It wasn't as if anyone would want to hurt him, right?

He didn't have any enemies in Konoha.

Kakashi Hatake relaxed a little and continued walking.

They soon arrived at the training ground.

Seeing the well-equipped training ground, Might Guy's eyes lit up.

"So cool!"

"You actually turned this place into something like this!"

Hearing Might Guy's words, Uchiha Obito stepped forward, put his hands on his hips, and pushed up his goggles.

"Just take it in stride. You'll get used to it!"

"Look at me!" Uchiha Obito said, thumping his chest.

"You should become a man who can hold up the sky, just like me, Guy!"

"Yeah!" Might Guy nodded vigorously. "This really is where youth belongs!"

"Yeah! First, two hundred push-ups!"

"Then, five hundred punches!"

"Finally, fifty sets of frog jumps!"

Might Guy shouted as he dropped to the ground and started doing push-ups.

Hearing his training goals, Uchiha Obito and Sarutobi Asuma both sucked in a breath.

"Has this guy always been this crazy?!"

"Pretty much." Yuki Yuichi nodded. "Guy isn't very talented at ninjutsu, so he puts all his effort into taijutsu."

He had known Might Guy the longest, and he also understood him best.

Even Might Guy himself didn't understand himself as well as Yuki Yuichi did.

"He really is... really hardworking." Sarutobi Asuma sighed, then quickly perked up. "Now that Guy's started training, I can't fall behind either!"

As he spoke, Sarutobi Asuma ran over to where he had practiced ninjutsu the day before and started training in Fire Release.

Kakashi Hatake watched Might Guy with a grave expression, too.

That was far more training than he did!

Looks like I can't slack off either!

Uchiha Obito and Kakashi Hatake went off to train as well. Seeing that, Yuhi Kurenai was about to continue practicing the Dragon Fire Technique, but Yuki Yuichi stopped her.

"Huh?" Yuhi Kurenai looked at him in confusion, unsure why he had stopped her.

Yuki Yuichi smiled at her and pointed to the big tree nearby.

"Let's practice chakra control."

Yuhi Kurenai froze again. "Now?"

"Yeah." Yuki Yuichi nodded. "We can spread chakra across the soles of our feet, then step vertically onto the trunk. That'll help us improve our chakra control."

As he spoke, Yuki Yuichi walked toward the tree. Tree climbing and Water Walking were the most basic applications of chakra, and they had to learn them, too.

Yuki Yuichi took a deep breath and stepped onto the trunk. Chakra held him firmly in place.

Feeling it work, Yuki Yuichi was overjoyed. He lifted his other foot and planted it on the trunk as well.

But as soon as he began controlling the chakra in both feet, he fell straight down, hitting the ground with a dull thud.

Yuki Yuichi got back to his feet and dusted himself off. He hadn't realized he was so high up. He wasn't badly hurt, but it still stung.

Fortunately, he had activated Nintaijutsu: Guard as soon as he felt his chakra slipping out of control.

It only lasted a brief second, but it had greatly reduced the pain.

"Yuichi, are you okay?" Yuhi Kurenai came over, looking at him with concern.

"I'm fine. Looks like I'll need something soft to land on." Yuki Yuichi headed down the hill.

He added, "Kurenai, you can train here. I'll go buy something, then come back and start practicing tree climbing."

At Yuki Yuichi's words, Yuhi Kurenai nodded. "Okay."

The training ground was behind Kage Rock, and there were some shops below it.

Yuki Yuichi went into the first ninja tool shop he found.

"What can I get for you, kid?" asked a friendly-looking middle-aged man. He didn't look down on Yuki Yuichi because of his age.

The shopkeeper seemed friendly, but Yuki Yuichi wouldn't assume he was a good person just because of that.

Ninja tools were basically weapons in the Shinobi World. This friendly-looking middle-aged man was really selling weapons...

And how could someone who sold weapons really be so friendly-looking?

There were plenty of shinobi in the Shinobi World, but not just anyone could open a ninja tool shop.

Yuki Yuichi scratched his head as he looked at the smiling shopkeeper. "Do you have any mats?"

"The kind you use for tree climbing."

Yuki Yuichi didn't know what ninja tool shops sold, but tree climbing and Water Walking were widely known throughout the Shinobi World. Surely they sold something like that.

Sure enough, the shopkeeper smiled and said, "We do."

"We have ones for three thousand ryō, five thousand ryō, seven thousand ryō, and ten thousand ryō."

"Which kind would you like, young customer?"

Yuki Yuichi considered it for a moment, then asked, "What's the difference?"

"The higher the price, the better the cushioning."

The shopkeeper's answer made Yuki Yuichi stroke his chin thoughtfully. Uncle Shinku had left him fourteen thousand ryō. A bowl of Ichiraku Ramen cost sixty ryō, and three meals a day for two people came to three hundred and sixty ryō.

If he kept four thousand ryō for food, he could buy two mats that cost five thousand ryō each.

As he thought it over, Yuki Yuichi figured he might even be able to make a bit of money off the two mats.

Neither Kakashi Hatake nor Sarutobi Asuma was short on money.

Uchiha Obito was a little worse off, but with support payments from the Uchiha, a clan with a thousand-year history, he wasn't exactly broke either.

After all, the Uchiha Clan controlled the ninja tool business, and with all those years of accumulated wealth, their support payments were generous.

Yuki Yuichi made up his mind. "I'll take two of the five-thousand-ryō mats."

As he spoke, he pulled a ten-thousand-ryō bill from his pocket.

The shopkeeper took the bill, went to the shelves, and picked up two mats sealed in plastic bags with the air sucked out.

"Here you go, young customer."

The shopkeeper handed the mats to Yuki Yuichi. "When you're ready to use them, tear open the bag, and the mat will return to its original shape."

Leaving the ninja tool shop, Yuki Yuichi walked along with the mats in his hands, glancing at them from time to time.

For a moment, he didn't know what to make of this world.

They could vacuum-seal things, yet farmers in the Shinobi World still used hoes.

They had computers, yet information was still carried by people or summoned beasts.

The Shinobi World was full of things that made him scratch his head, leaving him with mixed feelings.

So many things could have changed the world, yet somehow none of them seemed to have made any difference.
