After Austria-Hungary annexed Serbia, the situation in the Balkans changed once again.
The Balkan landscape had become unrecognizable. Things were just that strange. The two countries that had belonged to the Entente camp in the historical World War I had now boarded the Alliance's ship, while countries from the Alliance camp had joined the Entente!
To withstand pressure from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Kingdom of Montenegro had been forced to draw closer to Bulgaria, only one step away from an alliance; meanwhile, Greece and Romania had rapidly moved closer to the Austro-Hungarian Empire in order to counterbalance Bulgaria. But this time, Ferdinand truly had not manipulated anything behind the scenes! For example, Albania had only a little over ten thousand voters with voting rights, and ninety percent of them were immigrants.
Those qualified to stand for election were even rarer than phoenix feathers and qilin horns. There were scarcely any locals who had made contributions to Bulgaria!
