Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, September arrived. It was already autumn in Sofia, and the harvest season was always a joyful one.
For the Bulgarians, September 1930 was especially different. Ferdinand's coronation ceremony was set for September 12.
An empire naturally revolved around its emperor, and the marker of the Bulgarian Empire's founding was Ferdinand's coronation.
Before his coronation, Ferdinand issued another order that shocked the world: the colonies were to be redesignated as provinces. Bulgaria would incorporate all its colonies into its homeland.
Under ordinary circumstances, this topic might have caused quite a sensation. But at a time like this, forget it. The economic crisis had broken out, and everyone was too busy looking after themselves. They sighed a couple of times, and that was that.
Even the founding of the Bulgarian Empire was overshadowed by the economic crisis. Everyone was struggling over firewood, rice, oil, and salt; they simply had no energy left to worry about the world.
"Your Majesty, the provincial divisions have been completed. The nation has been divided into fifty-three provinces in total. Thirteen provinces are on the Balkan Peninsula; Asia Minor and the Middle East contain twenty-four provinces; Southeast Asia has one province; and the remaining fifteen provinces are on the African continent.
"However, there are still problems with governing the African colonies. We only control the cities and portions of the plains. The jungles remain the natives' strongholds.
"The provincial system will still be difficult to implement locally. For a long time to come, military administration remains more suitable!" Prime Minister Konstantin said.
"Indeed. The provincial system is only suitable for areas we have already developed. We cannot develop the African continent in the short term, so naturally we cannot force a square peg into a round hole.
