Background / History

Fugaku considered Shisui the strongest member of the Uchiha younger generation and selected him, alongside Uchiha Sora, for recommendation to the Fourth Hokage's Anbu. Shisui accepted the clan head's arrangement but modestly insisted that Sora's talent would eventually surpass his own 2.

Before the Uchiha's defection, Shisui hoped to reconcile the clan with Konoha. Sora's warnings that the village would ultimately destroy the Uchiha left him deeply conflicted; the emotional shock of envisioning the massacre caused his Sharingan to develop its third tomoe 3.

During the Nine-Tails crisis, Shisui learned that Shimura Danzō possessed Kagami Uchiha's Sharingan and concluded that Danzō was behind the Uchiha's future annihilation. Though he intervened against Root, he initially used the hilt of his blade to incapacitate rather than kill Konoha shinobi 6 7. He later helped lead the Uchiha evacuation, placing the clan's safety ahead of his desire to assist Minato 12.

Shisui is an Uchiha shinobi recognized most readily by his crimson Sharingan and exceptional speed. His Mangekyō has a four-bladed pinwheel pattern, and his Susanoo manifests in emerald green 61 201.

Personality

Shisui begins as unusually gentle and self-effacing for an Uchiha. He wants peace between Konoha and the clan, worries about ordinary guards caught in conflicts, and retains concern for Konoha even after the Uchiha defect 3 19 22. His reluctance to kill fellow village shinobi persists even when he takes decisive action against Root 7.

Beneath this restraint, Shisui has a strong need for acknowledgment and control. Sora identifies this desire early, and Shisui's later actions confirm a willingness to impose his judgment on others when he believes it will spare them suffering or remove a corrupt old order 19 61. He becomes markedly more forceful under Sora's influence, though he remains attentive to allies and protective of younger clan members 129 200.
