Bites the Dust was Killer Queen's third bomb ability.
There were three prerequisites for activating it:
First, Yoshikage Kira had to be in a state of utter despair.
Second, the target had to be an ordinary person.
Third, the target had to know Yoshikage Kira to some extent.
Bites the Dust could be triggered in two different ways.
The first was by detonating the bomb planted with Bites the Dust.
In his despair, Yoshikage Kira planted the bomb, detonated it, and returned to an hour earlier.
Yoshikage Kira himself retained his memories after this kind of detonation, while everyone else forgot. If the detonation succeeded, Bites the Dust had officially activated.
Second, once Bites the Dust was activated, Killer Queen would enter Lin Qing's body.
From that moment on, anyone who learned anything about Yoshikage Kira from Lin Qing, by any means, would have Killer Queen enter their pupils and explode, sending time back another hour.
During that hour, neither Yoshikage Kira nor anyone else in the world had any memories. Only Lin Qing remembered.
When time started over—in other words, in the multiple-loop timeline—the theory of predetermined fate held that the outcome of everything in the world would remain unchanged—
A teacup destined to break would shatter, and someone destined to die would die at the same time.
The only way to undo Bites the Dust was for Yoshikage Kira to deactivate it of his own volition.
Since time only went back one hour, anyone who had been dead for more than an hour would still be doomed, even if time rewound.
Lin Qing recalled the exact effects of Bites the Dust, then raised his head and met Yoshikage Kira's gaze. A small marble spun slowly in his hand.
The smug look on Yoshikage Kira's face quietly faded.
