Lin Qing flew to the floor where the Mizukage's office was located. Just as he was about to gently knock on the window, he saw Mei Terumi slumped over her desk.
Her mouth hung half-open as she slept deeply, drool trickling from her lips onto the documents on the desk.
Noticing that Mei Terumi's clothes were rather thin, and recalling Kirigakure's damp, frigid winter weather, Lin Qing used Ripple to push open the window and flew inside.
The cold wind was blocked outside by Ripple. Lin Qing landed softly on the floor, his shoes making a faint tap as they touched the ground.
For a ninja to remain asleep even when someone had approached so closely, Mei Terumi truly had to be exhausted to the extreme.
Lin Qing took a blanket from the Ghost Room and gently draped it over Mei Terumi. Then he turned off the lights so she could sleep more comfortably.
The desk was covered in a messy pile of documents. Lin Qing gave them a rough look and saw that they mainly concerned personnel deployments among the major nations and ninja villages.
Kumogakure and Konoha had not deployed troops for the time being.
They could be considered allies of Lin Qing, but how reliable could allies really be when benefits and the future were at stake? That was hard to say.
So Mei Terumi had been keeping people watching them.
Then there was Iwagakure.
They had remained low-profile and cunning all along. Most likely, they had reached a deal with the Conglomerate and would remove their forehead protectors before secretly sending ninja to join the campaign against Lin Qing.
If they won, they would get a share of the spoils. If they lost, the trouble would not come back to them.
As for Sunagakure?
