The train's mournful whistle echoed across the vast wilderness as it charged onward, as if bound for the end of the world.
Alongside the train, Johnny and Gyro rode low over their horses, keeping close behind. Their resolute gazes swept across the train's windows in search of their target—

Not long ago, at the edge of the forest, they had witnessed the defeat of Lin Qing (Diego) and Hot Pants.
To be fair, whether it was Diego's Scary Monsters, Hot Pants's Cream Starter, or the fighting spirit of the two of them, neither was in any way inferior to Johnny and Gyro.
In fact, in terms of team composition, the twin-star duo was more well-rounded than Johnny and Gyro, two users with similar types of abilities working together.
Yet even those two had ultimately died at Funny Valentine's hands.
And now...
Johnny's gaze was unwavering. "We're the last people who can stop Funny Valentine."
After the Philadelphia shooting, Johnny had clearly realized just how bizarre Valentine's Stand, D4C, was. But even the strangest ability had a weakness:

In Johnny's view, both his nail bullets and Gyro's Steel Balls were capable of fighting at mid-to-long range. If the opportunity arose, one strike would be enough to end the battle.
The train was still speeding ahead. Since they had no idea how many of Funny Valentine's subordinates were aboard, Gyro decided to jump onto the locomotive first, take out the engineer, and force the train to stop.
After that, whether they confronted him head-on or used their horses' mobility to wage a guerrilla battle, the choice would be theirs.
