"No!" Uchiha Fugaku roared as he rushed to the barrier's edge and stared wide-eyed at what was happening outside.
Gradually, the flames died down. The scene before them left everyone inside the barrier stunned.
"What's going on? Barrier Team! How dare you disobey my orders!"
Nara Lukin murmured in disbelief as he looked at the scene before him. Then, as if he had realized something, he turned and roared at a ninja some distance away.
Outside the barrier, the civilians of the Land of Rain were surrounded by another layer of purple barrier. It was much smaller than the one here, but it adjoined the barrier where Nara Lukin and the others were sheltering. It looked as though it had branched off from their barrier.
"Disobey your orders? We didn't!" The Barrier Team ninja maintaining the barrier looked completely bewildered. He was certain that the barrier protecting the civilians hadn't been created by the Barrier Team.
He knew the strength of the Barrier Team's ninja. None of them could alter the shape of a barrier. It went against everything they knew.
"Report! The barrier over there wasn't created by our Barrier Team!"
The Barrier Team captain examined the adjoining barrier in the distance, then shouted to Nara Lukin.
"Not the Barrier Team? Then who did it?"
Hearing the shout from a distance, Nara Lukin walked to the edge of the barrier and carefully studied the one beside it.
Up close, Nara Lukin could indeed see the differences between the two barriers.
The barrier protecting the civilians wasn't shaped like the boxy Four Violet Flames Formation. Instead, it formed an upside-down bowl, like a hemisphere. The barrier here was surrounded by purple Chakra flames, while golden lightning flickered around the outside of the other one.
There was another major difference. Four
