Under the guidance of Tsunade, Uzumaki Kushina spent an entire day touring the village. By the end of that day, the Third Hokage had already arranged for Kushina's enrollment. The Ninja Academy's classes were divided into four tiers—A, B, C, and D—with Class A being the most elite.
Konoha's Ninja Academy was open to everyone; even if one started as a commoner, as long as they displayed talent as a ninja, they could enter the academy to study. As a member of the Uzumaki clan, Kushina was placed directly into Class A by the Third Hokage, as class placement was determined by both innate talent and lineage.
Consequently, those in the same class as Kushina were either members of ancient ninja clans or exceptionally gifted commoner ninjas. Even in a place as relatively fair as Konoha, there was ultimately a disparity in the treatment of clan heirs versus commoners. In Class A, the majority were children from various ninja clans; regardless of their individual talent, their backgrounds were undeniably prestigious.
As for the commoners who managed to make it into Class A, every one of them possessed outstanding talent. Those commoner students would, at the very least, reach the rank of Chunin upon graduation. For an average commoner ninja, the rank of Chunin already represented a very high status; Chunin were the backbone of a ninja village, while Jonin were considered top-tier combatants, with some exceptionally powerful ones even capable of trading blows with a Kage.
In Konoha, one could observe a fairly common phenomenon: any Jonin with a known name and reputation almost certainly had ninja ancestors going back three generations. Those who didn't have much of a name for themselves were generally Genin or Chunin, with the highest reaching only the level of Special Jonin.
It should be noted that so-called Special Jonin and Jonin were not actually the same rank. A Special Jonin was merely someone granted the title due to a specific, outstanding ability or a unique contribution; generally speaking, their overall strength did not match that of a standard Jonin.
However, there was no clear superior-subordinate relationship between a Special Jonin and a Jonin; it depended entirely on the assignments given during missions. Sometimes, the strategist in a team might only be a Chunin, while the muscle accompanying them might all be Jonin—such situations were quite common in Konoha.
The main reason Kushina was allowed to enter Class A upon arriving in Konoha was that the Third Hokage wanted her to make an impression on the descendants of the various ninja clans, which was beneficial for cultivating the Jinchuriki's sense of belonging. Since Kushina would inevitably interact with top-tier ninjas in the future, placing her in other classes to mingle with commoners would not be conducive to her becoming an outstanding Konoha ninja.
Inside the residence of Uzumaki Mito, Uzumaki Kuming drank his milk while contemplating his future. In a world like this, personal strength was the primary guarantee of one's safety. Moreover, now that he was Kushina's younger brother, he needed to plan for his sister's sake as well.
After all, blood ties were always among the most intimate of relationships.
According to the progression of the plot, by the time Naruto Uzumaki was born—the moment his sister Kushina would lose her life—he himself would be in his teens. Before that point, he had to acquire the absolute power to change the course of the war! Fortunately, he had been born early, giving him plenty of time to strengthen himself. Although time was tight, he could still plot to change certain events when the time came.
The current period was several years after the end of the First Shinobi World War, and all the ninja villages were recuperating. Although the Second Hokage of Konoha had unfortunately died at the end of the war while sacrificing himself to cover his team during an ambush while signing a peace treaty with the Land of Lightning, the presence of Uzumaki Mito acted as a nuclear deterrent. With her support, the new Hokage had quickly led Konoha out of the shadows of war.
Furthermore, Konoha had not encountered any further military conflicts, and the entire ninja world could be considered to have returned to peace.
As Hiruzen Sarutobi led Konoha out of the haze of war, his personal influence gradually spread throughout the ninja world, ensuring that Konoha maintained a certain level of deterrence that kept the surrounding, covetous villages from acting rashly. Kuming could roughly determine the current era based on the ages of Mito and Kushina. They were likely in the period before the Second Shinobi World War, though how long before was impossible to say.
Kuming knew roughly that Mito's death would be the catalyst for the Second Shinobi World War. Once Konoha lost its "nuclear weapon" after her passing, it would face attacks from other villages, and the village, caught in the vortex of war, would lose its closest allies.
Early in the Second War, Tsunade's younger brother would head to the battlefield; by the middle of the war, the title of the Sannin would be established; and by the end of the war, Tsunade's lover, Dan Katō, would die unexpectedly, causing Tsunade to develop hemophobia. It was after the Second War that the Sannin began to drift away from Konoha: Orochimaru would eventually be exiled for his pursuit of forbidden science, and Jiraiya would begin his journey to bring Orochimaru back.
By the time of the Third Shinobi World War, it would be the era when the Yellow Flash of Konoha would shine, and it was also during that time that the various schemes of Madara Uchiha would gradually begin to surface.
From this, one could see just how important Uzumaki Mito was to Konoha. Before her death, Madara Uchiha's schemes were limited to activities outside the village; he didn't dare reach his hand into Konoha at all. At that time, although Madara was old, capturing Tailed Beasts other than the Nine-Tails was still a simple task for him.
However, it wasn't until Madara had outlived Uzumaki Mito that he, having become too old to capture Tailed Beasts himself, was forced to groom Obito to complete his plans.
Once Kuming had roughly sorted out the timeline he was in, he released his little mouth. He was full, and he already had a rough plan for his future in his mind. Although he didn't know if there were any errors or fallacies in his deductions, he didn't care.
After all, the development of the real world was always moving forward; he only needed to change what he could within his reach to ensure that everything developed in a direction favorable to him. However, before he had the ability to change things, Kuming set a small goal for himself: to wean himself off milk.
For some reason, he had been feeling hungry lately, and he felt that drinking the same breast milk all the time was becoming monotonous. He wondered if there was any way to change the flavor. Unable to move independently, Kuming could only feel happiness when filling his stomach; life in the infant stage was just that simple and dull.
A few days later, on a sunny morning, Kushina walked into the Konoha Ninja Academy under Tsunade's guidance. Just one week later, Kushina became the famous "big sister" of the academy. Almost all the children who dared to mock her hair color or call her an outsider received a taste of Kushina's "fists of love."
Regarding the trouble Kushina caused at the academy, the Third Hokage said nothing; instead, he stepped forward to appease the parents of the beaten children. As for Kushina, aside from receiving immediate comfort from Mito and Tsunade upon returning home, she faced no punishment whatsoever. It was from that day on that Kuming realized he was definitely a well-connected individual in Konoha.
His sister had beaten up children at school and faced no punishment. Although he knew Kushina must have been provoked, he also knew she had definitely thrown the first punch. The fact that the person who started the fight could escape punishment and even be comforted by Mito and Tsunade made him realize that his sister's connections were truly peerless.
Time flew like a white horse passing a crevice. Soon, two years had passed since the siblings arrived in Konoha. During these two years, Kuming finally resisted the temptation of his "big sister" and successfully weaned himself, and the chakra within his body had made significant progress. Most importantly, he could finally walk upright proficiently and express his needs with simple language.
He, Uzumaki Kuming, could finally stop wetting his pants! He wouldn't soil his diapers anymore either!
As for Uzumaki Kushina, she had spent two happy years beating up children without ever being punished.
