Background / History
Rin is a civilian-born Konoha ninja who serves alongside Kakashi Hatake and Obito Uchiha under Minato Namikaze. Early in the Third Shinobi World War, the three are inexperienced enough to leave traces while traveling through enemy territory. Rin often mediates Kakashi and Obito’s arguments 169 174 182.
During the Kannabi Bridge mission, Minato splits from the team and places Kakashi in command. Stone ninja capture Rin; Obito insists on rescuing her, and Kakashi eventually joins him. After her rescue, Rin treats Kakashi and performs an eye transplant for him 182 183 185.
Later, Mist ninja capture Rin and seal the Three-Tails inside her, intending to release it after she returns to Konoha. Once she discovers the plan, Rin asks Kakashi to kill her rather than risk the lives of her comrades and family. Minato and Kuming intervene when the beast’s chakra erupts, and Kuming reseals it within her 217 218 221 223.
Rin subsequently trains her medical ninjutsu and control of the Three-Tails under Kushina’s guidance. She later captains a re-formed Team 7 consisting of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Karin Senju, before joining the Land of Lightning battlefield herself 392 473 474.
