At noon, after a night of rest, Minato Namikaze's team hurried through the forest.
Suddenly, a strange noise rang out in the sky. Five enormous lava fireballs, each more than ten meters across, appeared above them, blotting out the sun.
They plummeted straight toward Minato and the others as they hurried along.

Obito spotted the attack overhead. Its terrifying force made him cry out in panic. Kakashi stared at the sudden attack, cold sweat running down his forehead as his body began to tremble uncontrollably. The one behind them fared even worse: he dropped to the ground and muttered,
"Are we going to die?"
Minato had no time to worry about his subordinates. His expression turned cold as he looked at the terrifying attack overhead. He swiftly drew five Kunai from the pouch on his back and hurled them at the fireballs.
"Flying Thunder God Technique!"
Minato quickly formed a special Kunai in his hand and stared gravely into the depths of the forest. The five Kunai he had thrown soon reached the lava fireballs. The next moment, every fireball vanished.
"BOOM!!!!!"
Less than a second later, a thunderous explosion erupted a thousand meters away from Minato's team. Flames shot into the sky, making the world blaze with light for several seconds. Then a wave of scorching air swept toward them. Minato's clothes fluttered in the blast as he took up a battle stance.
"We're saved!"
Obito watched the enormous lava fireballs vanish overhead and realized Minato had used a jutsu. He let out a long, relieved breath. Kakashi beside him also quietly exhaled, and his trembling stopped.
"Kakashi, Obito, protect Rin and get out of here."
"I'll catch up with you later. You can't stay here for the battle ahead."
