The White Zetsu that had split off transformed right before Minato Namikaze's eyes into someone identical to Uzumaki Kuming. Even the Chakra on its body was exactly the same as Kuming's.
As Minato watched, the Kuming lookalike gained a layer of Lightning-Style Chakra, looking just like Uzumaki Kuming's Lightning Armor. While the clone held Minato off, White Zetsu's real body had already burrowed underground and vanished. Black Zetsu, meanwhile, turned into a shadow and attacked Kuming.
Uzumaki Kuming's Mind's Eye of the Kagura covered the entire battlefield, so he saw the changes to White Zetsu. As Black Zetsu sped toward him, Kuming couldn't help frowning slightly.

"Is this filial son really that fast?"
Uzumaki Kuming seemed to have forgotten that Black Zetsu had even managed to ambush Madara Uchiha. When it came to speed, Black Zetsu was far faster than Minato Namikaze, unless Minato used the Flying Thunder God Technique.
Facing Black Zetsu's attack, Kuming had no choice but to put off sealing the Four-Tails. He used Adamantine Sealing Chains only to restrain it. As Black Zetsu reached him, Kuming quickly swung his blade horizontally. But just as the Heavenly Feather Blade was about to hit Black Zetsu, its body changed in a bizarre way.
Black Zetsu's flat body twisted a full 180 degrees, narrowly avoiding Kuming's attack. Then, like a puddle of mud, it smeared itself over Kuming's face, blocking his entire field of vision. Lightning Armor covered Kuming, keeping Black Zetsu from penetrating it to reach his body. But pressed against him, Black Zetsu began absorbing his Chakra.
The deep purple Lightning Armor on Kuming's body rapidly faded before his eyes.
