"What... what is this?"
Obito Uchiha stared in shock. He never expected things to turn out this way. His young mind could now piece together some of what had happened. The boy hadn't really found the Jade Marrow in the ruins. He'd been carrying it all along.
He must have been using it to lure in some careless thieves, put them at ease, and then strike back when they let their guard down. The middle-aged man who'd robbed him clearly wasn't someone to underestimate, either. Even while pretending to give in, he'd been hiding his own deadly intentions.
But just when Obito thought everything had finally settled, the Explosive Tag trap on the boy's corpse had made even the victor disappear.
The ninja world was cruel. Obito knew that very well.
But this was the first time he'd ever seen a scene like this!
As a ninja in Konoha, Obito had carried out plenty of missions over the years. But missions were always more or less the same. He'd never witnessed something that put human nature so starkly on display.
Kakashi, on the other hand, had spent some time in the Anbu. He'd seen far more of this kind of thing than Obito.
This had shaken Obito badly, and it had affected Rin and Itachi, too. Uchiha Itachi was frowning, seemingly deep in thought, while Rin covered her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"This is the Land of Disorder."
Uzumaki Kuming shook his head slightly and sighed, then slowly walked toward the ruins.
"Master?" Uchiha Itachi realized that Uzumaki Kuming had left and looked at his back in confusion.
Uzumaki Kuming's slow approach toward the center of the ruins drew the attention of all the gold diggers, too.
"I'm taking the last legacy of Uzushio Village!"
