The next morning, the students who had passed the Ninja Academy graduation exam gathered one after another on the academy grounds. Then, under the expectant gazes of the crowd, Minato Namikaze appeared with Nara Shikaku and a group of Jonin instructors.
On the raised platform at the front of the grounds, Nara Shikaku called out names. One by one, the students whose names were called eagerly stepped up to receive their Forehead Protectors. Below the platform, the Jonin instructors gathered together and chatted.
"Kakashi, you should've received your team assignment, right?"
"Which team are you taking?"
Asuma and Kurenai stood side by side and asked Kakashi. They had already discussed their students with each other and knew who the other would be leading. They were both curious about Kakashi's team.
"Me?"
"Team 7."
Thinking about it, Kakashi Hatake couldn't help sighing. Minato had originally given him full authority to choose which team he would lead, but before he even knew the exact team assignments, an order had come down from Minato telling him to take Team 7.
The members of this Team 7 were already giving him a headache.
"Team 7? Which children are in it?" Yuhi Kurenai didn't know the details of the assignments, so she asked curiously. Asuma, meanwhile, wore a gleeful smile.
"Oh! Team 7!"
"That team won't be easy to lead. There aren't many of us who could handle them!"
Asuma glanced toward a short distance away. Uchiha Itachi and Shisui Uchiha, the two senior-and-junior teammates, were chatting there and seemed to be discussing their own teams. Feeling Asuma's gaze, they both looked over and nodded slightly in greeting.
Asuma turned back, giving Kakashi a sympathetic look.
"Asuma, why do you say that? Who's in Team 7? What makes them so hard to handle?" Kurenai asked,
