I went out to get my foot checked today.
Dragging my heavy body, I limped my way out, and limped my way back with a heavily bandaged pig's trotter.
Honestly, on the way back, I was tempted to bury my head in my hands and bawl; I've never suffered such indignity in my entire life.
But then I thought about it, at least I'm still alive, so I sucked it up and posted on my Moments to thank this godforsaken year of 2020. To my surprise, my goofy friends have it even worse than I do. Looking at it that way, I suppose I'm actually quite lucky??
I've been in real agony these past two days. It hurt all day yesterday, and I thought I'd torn a ligament, but it turned out to be—what the hell—gout. I wonder if any of you have had the same experience; tell us about it so we can all have a good laugh.
It's super uncomfortable; no matter how I position my foot, it just doesn't feel right. I didn't go to work this morning either, just lay in bed trying to find a comfortable spot for it. That update this morning was written yesterday... I've just gotten back, and while I have the ideas—since the plot outline is basically finished—I just don't feel like writing. My mood is really low.
Please allow me to take a break today to adjust my spirits, and I'll continue writing tomorrow.
Grateful for our meeting, grateful that I am still alive, and grateful for 2020.
Thank you!
