"Initiating space jump."
A triangular spacecraft appeared out of thin air in the starry void.
It was approximately 69 trillion kilometers away from the original binary star system.
"Preparing to transfer to another ship." Qishan gazed at the 100% simulated starry sky, his eyes filled with a deep, lingering attachment to the cosmos as he let out a long sigh: "Finally back!"
Chen Beixun's gaze shifted; he stood up from the long bench, shook off his lethargy, and pulled up the ship's manifest, retrieving a D5-class spacecraft from his spatial ring.
The ship was about 124 meters long and of a very old model.
Most Immortals spent long years wandering the universe, and it was perfectly normal for them to use ships below F-class to keep a low profile and avoid unwanted attention.
Inside the D5-class ship.
Chen Beixun walked down the D5 corridor, brushed the dust off the metal wall, and curled his lip: "How long has this been sitting here?"
Qishan appeared out of thin air beside Chen Beixun and spoke: "This was your teacher's first ship; it has been sitting for nearly thirty million years."
After Qishan finished speaking, his eyes revealed a complex, melancholic expression.
"This..." Chen Beixun's mouth twitched.
In the universe, strength is supreme; weakness is the original sin.
A sword-shaped spacecraft was traveling through the dark universe at five times the speed of light.
"This journey will take about two months," Chunqiu said. The Chunqiu of now was not the Chunqiu of then; after Qishan's upgrades and modifications, he possessed the emotions a normal person should have. He looked at Chen Beixun with a cheerful smile: "Boss, why not head to 'Hongdu Planet'?"
Chen Beixun was savoring fine wine; he glanced at Chunqiu from the corner of his eye and flicked his two fingers.
"Ah!" A snail the size of an inch shot out like an arrow from a bow, slamming into the metal wall with a "clink."
"You get a little bit of humanity and you start acting cheeky," Chen Beixun said irritably. "Of all people to emulate, you had to pick that damn bastard."
"But 'Hongdu Planet' is a commercial planet, at least," Chunqiu said, sounding a bit aggrieved.
"Yeah, yeah, a commercial planet that sells slaves!" Chen Beixun propped his feet up on the table, staring at the Gold Soul Stone in his hand.
Chen Beixun was quite sensitive about the word "slave." In fact, a former "friend" of his had once given him the nickname "Slave Owner"—that friend had never cared about Chen Beixun's past nor treated him like a human being.
Later, that friend's family was wiped out, and the friend himself was captured, sold into slavery.
After hearing the news, Chen Beixun made many inquiries, only to eventually learn that his friend had been bought by a rival and tortured to death.
"Cheeky little guy," Chen Beixun sighed, then immediately submerged his consciousness into the Slaughter Arena of the Virtual Universe.
Slaughter Arena.
"You pick the map," Chen Beixun said, his gaze calm as he looked at the exasperated, burly man in front of him.
Kewu Race? Looks like this will be a tough fight, Chen Beixun thought to himself.
The Kewu Race were Universe-level from adulthood, and the entire race was known for being martial and ruthless.
Beep, beep... Scene loading...
A flash of white light passed, and Chen Beixun opened his eyes abruptly. "A flat grassland? That's a bit too confident for your own good." When he saw the weapon in the burly man's hand, he couldn't help but be startled.
"God-Splitting Weapon?" Chen Beixun grew tense, his body trembling.
Excitement—intense, overwhelming excitement! It was rare to find an opponent worth fighting.
A rainbow light shot out, kicking up a hundred meters of dust, reaching the burly man in an instant. The long blade in his hand traced an arc as he slashed toward the man.
Just as the blade was about to connect, the burly man vanished in a flash. The slash hit nothing but air, yet the force of the swing alone whipped up a gale that tore up hundreds of kilometers of turf.
"Bad move!" Chen Beixun was startled, dissolving into a hundred afterimages. Even so, he was struck by a streak of green light that flew from out of nowhere.
His body was sent flying backward.
"So fast." Chen Beixun didn't have time to dwell on it; several flying blades emerged around him, and he unleashed the second level of the Tianqu Cone.
The white light dyed the horizon for over ten thousand miles as tens of millions of ice cones erupted from the ground. Chen Beixun clapped his hands together, and the ice cones shattered. A gale rose from the ground, mixed with shards of ice like sharp, cruel blades, wreaking havoc.
Tens of thousands of golden light blades rained down from the dim sky, instantly carving long gashes into the earth.
A "squelch" was heard. Chen Beixun looked back to see a blood-red ice flower blooming in the white wasteland.
"All bark and no bite," Chen Beixun frowned. "This won't do; I need to increase the intensity."
Clearly, the intensity of the gambling matches was no longer suitable for Chen Beixun. That said, it was impossible to win both the match and the money in a gambling fight; if he wanted to increase the intensity, he had to raise the stakes. Chen Beixun had only been participating in relatively low-level gambling matches. If he fought in high-level ones, he wouldn't stand a chance.
Chen Beixun only used them for sharpening his skills; gambling matches provided money and excitement, making the fights feel more visceral.
The voyage would take about two months, so he could indulge in the combat to his heart's content.
Two months later...
Inside the D-class spacecraft...
"That is Hehong Planet! One of the twelve major free trade planets in the Xuyu Universe Kingdom?"
Hehong Planet is extremely famous within the Xuyu Universe Kingdom, primarily because its various tax rates are low and its location is relatively favorable, attracting a large number of investors.
"The docking fees here are also ridiculously high, 50,000 Xuyu Coins per month," Qishan said. "Your teacher even came here to shop and spend when he was at the World Lord level."
Chen Beixun gazed intently at the cyan-green planet growing larger before him.
As they ventured deeper, the number of passing spaceships increased significantly.
"That is an F6-class spaceship," Qishan said, pointing at a crimson vessel. "The entire hull is made of Tuoyu Tin Gold. Based on the size of the ship, it's worth about 1.56 million Hunyuan Units."
"Oh?!" Chen Beixun examined the spaceship and immediately asked, "Then what metal is Teacher's ship made of?"
"An F9-class spaceship, the Linkong. The entire hull is made of Cyan Geng Metal, with a total construction cost of 6.5 million Hunyuan Units," Qishan said, standing with his hands behind his back in a detached manner.
Chen Beixun nodded, his gaze shifting back to the outside world. "The difference between F6-class metal and F9-class metal is truly massive."
"It's normal; the difference between people is just as vast," Qishan said coldly. "Also, we are almost there."
"Head to Docking Port 15 first."
A few minutes later...
Hehong Planet, Docking Port 15.
"This way, sir," said a staff member at Docking Port 15.
Chen Beixun swept his gaze over the staff member. A Universe-level third rank? From the Red Flame Race. He couldn't help but feel a jolt of shock.
"Docking for two months," he said, extending his arm toward the red-skinned staff member.
Beep, beep...
Identity confirmed... Universe First Bank automatic deduction... 100,000 Xuyu Coins.
"Please." The Red Flame Race staff member appeared entirely subservient.
Out in the galaxy, a formidable Universe-level powerhouse was actually working here as a parking attendant.
This couldn't help but pique Chen Beixun's curiosity.
Carrying this curiosity with him, he walked toward the outside world.
Chen Beixun walked along the street; everything here was quite novel to him.
He looked up from time to time at the skyscrapers piercing the sky. The two Red Gold Guards following behind him were particularly eye-catching, as most people on the street were Domain Lord-level, with a minority being World Lords.
"Those are Red Gold Guards, aren't they!" a green-faced Domain Lord-level powerhouse said to his companion.
"Looks like he's a scion from some major family."
"The price of Red Gold Guards is something we could never hope to afford!"
Chen Beixun sensed the gazes of the pedestrians on the road. He frowned slightly, thinking to himself, Isn't this a bit too high-profile? I usually prefer to think carefully before I act!
The Red Gold Guards had been brought out at Qishan's insistence.
Seeing Chen Beixun so reserved, Qishan couldn't help but speak up: "What are you afraid of? This is the territory of the Immortal Marquis Longda! No one dares to act recklessly here."
Hearing this, Chen Beixun couldn't help but relax significantly, and his pace quickened accordingly.
