Huang Wuye was completely immersed in the Fire Truth Interpretation, his eyes brighter than ever.
The Fire Truth Interpretation was indeed Huoyu King's painstaking work. It clearly dissected the Law of Fire, and Huang Wuye felt as though the Fire Origin Law lay right before his eyes.
Huang Wuye knew that if he kept moving forward step by step, he would master the Fire Origin Law.
Talent had never been his constraint. He was overjoyed. After nearly twenty years in this wonderful world, he had finally grasped the key to becoming a powerhouse.
As long as he could become an Immortal, Huang Wuye believed he would surely stand at the pinnacle of the universe.
Though Huang Wuye longed to explore the wonders of the universe, he understood that he needed strength.
Only with enough power to protect himself could he roam the universe and witness its prosperity and wonders. Only then would he have the confidence to encounter all kinds of powerful lifeforms and see the marvels of the universe.
"Whew, this Fire Truth Interpretation really is extraordinary. With it, my Law Comprehension will speed up considerably. I didn't expect it to actually boost my progress, too. The material must be quite special."
Huang Wuye sighed softly, then picked up the space manual Drifting Blood beside him and began reading.
"Hmm, Drifting Snow has a hundred and ten volumes. That's far fewer than the Fire Truth Interpretation. Well, Drifting Snow is only a basic manual. The Law of Space is considered an upper law, but this only covers the fundamentals, so it makes sense that there are fewer volumes.
"Oh, it was created by Lian Luo of the Nine Universe School. Lian Luo really was a genius, but he never became a powerhouse and died too young. Looks like I'd better focus more on staying alive.
"Powerful talent is just the icing on the cake. Strong character and self-awareness are what truly make someone powerful.
"I should learn from his example and be more careful.
"Still, Lian Luo was remarkably gifted. Drifting Blood is on par with the first three levels of my teacher Huoyu King's Fire Truth Interpretation. Lian Luo really was a good person—he's still contributing to humanity even after his death."
As Huang Wuye read Drifting Blood, he pondered. The widening curve of his lips showed just how good he felt. He happily awarded a "good person" badge to a senior from who knew how many years ago.
"Someone like me is never going to give so selflessly for humanity. Well, I just need to become a powerhouse. Being a genius isn't what I'm after."
Huang Wuye's thoughts wandered, but then he hurried to absorb the knowledge left behind by his deceased predecessors.
As Huang Wuye immersed himself in comprehending the laws, time flowed quietly by like water, leaving only the sound of turning pages to mark its passage.
After who knew how long, Huang Wuye finally woke from his ravenous absorption. He moved his body, which had been still for ages, and a series of sharp cracks rang out.
His long-dormant strength stirred back to life. Long-missed hot blood coursed through his chest, and the E9-class alloy armor on his body shifted from a white robe back into battle armor. A murderous aura quietly spread, while a faint sound rippled through the silent space.
"Mm, it's about time I got some exercise. I bet those adorable fellows are missing me by now!" Huang Wuye gazed ahead, as though he could see the menacing beasts in the distance.
Giant Wood Planet, Corrosion Paradise. This was a paradise for predators.
Corrosion Paradise covered three hundred million square kilometers. It was vast beyond measure—twice the size of all Blue Star's land combined. Two-thirds of this immense expanse was covered in towering forests.
It was called Corrosion Paradise because the remaining third consisted entirely of swampland.
In this vast hell, countless enormous beasts lived, including, of course, predators at the top of the food chain.
Among these apex predators, three kinds of ferocious beasts were the most savage. All stood at the very top of the food chain, their powerful racial abilities securing them the top three positions.
In third place was our old friend, the Rot-Tooth Beast. It reigned supreme with its sharp claws and teeth, as well as its powerful physique. The highly corrosive saliva in its mouth was another major threat. And Rot-Tooth Beasts lived in groups, often in great numbers. The ones Huang Wuye had encountered last time had been a small pack.
In second place was a large beast. Unlike the Rot-Tooth Beast, which preferred to live in groups, it preferred to act alone. It was called the Black Armor Leopard.
Every Black Armor Leopard left its kind once it reached adulthood, and each one that hunted alone was a formidable predator.
Black Armor Leopards were usually several thousand meters long and had at least the strength and physique of a domain lord.
Every Black Armor Leopard was a born warrior. Its scales, comparable to D-grade alloy, let it ignore most attacks.
Its powerful physique granted it far greater strength than ordinary beasts. Its strong limbs, sharp claws, and teeth made for perfect weapons.
At the top of the food chain was a creature resembling a Tyrannosaurus rex—only magnified countless times. It was called the Dragon Owl.
The Dragon Owl resembled a Tyrannosaurus rex, but its forelimbs were not as short. Its hind legs were powerful, and its forelimbs were not to be underestimated either. Most striking of all was the crown-like horn atop its head.
That crown-like horn made it look even more imposing. Every adult domain lord–level Dragon Owl comprehended a trace of the Law of Gold on its own. The strongest among them had a grasp of the Law of Gold comparable to that of some genius domain lords.
That made the Dragon Owl the true king of Corrosion Paradise, all three hundred million square kilometers of it.
The Rot-Tooth Beast and the Black Armor Leopard were Huang Wuye's mission targets.
It wasn't because they were powerful. Though they were indeed strong, the real reason they were his targets was their appetites.
Both had bottomless appetites, needing to eat far more than their body weight every day. Rot-Tooth Beasts in particular had such powerful digestive systems that they quickly grew hungry again. Their limited intelligence made them unable to overcome their instincts, so they had to keep eating.
This greatly disrupted Giant Wood Planet's ecological balance. They also threatened the rare beasts being raised there, so they had ended up on Huang Wuye's kill list.
Of course, that didn't mean Huang Wuye only had to contend with these two. The other predators wouldn't simply let him rampage through the place, either.
Corrosion Paradise was destined to be anything but peaceful today. Then again, it was never peaceful—but today would be especially lively.
An unwelcome guest was speeding toward the area, and soon a lively scene would unfold there.
That unwelcome guest was Huang Wuye, who had just emerged from seclusion.
After comprehending the laws, Huang Wuye now urgently needed a battle to temper him.
So he chose Corrosion Paradise, the closest place to where he lived. He believed it would give him a pleasant surprise.
