Perhaps because his constitution was far stronger than during his first crossing, Ren Ze felt no discomfort at all. A flash of silver light passed before his eyes, and the scene had already changed. He had gone from the Wilderness Zone to the bedroom of a Western-style villa, where a red dress lay on the large bed.

That intense sense of crisis had vanished.

"I was still too careless. I clearly knew that the Swallowed Star World had scum like the Tiger Fang Squad, yet I never took precautions and only focused on finding monsters to temper myself... Luckily..."

Back in 0211 County, after slaughtering a large number of monsters, the Star Map's energy had already filled up. A second star had subsequently begun to glow faintly. However, Ren Ze had been in a period of rapid growth at the time, so he had put off exploring a new world. He had never expected to use the Star Map's crossing ability so soon to escape for his life...

"Looks like I can't casually go back this time until my strength has increased substantially..."

After dwelling on the lingering fear for a moment, Ren Ze shook his head and turned his attention to the scene before him.

Ren Ze felt as though he had seen this before somewhere. Before he could take a closer look around, he heard movement behind him.

"Who are you?"

The voice was quite pleasant. When Ren Ze turned around, he was a little dumbfounded.

A sexy, curvaceous blonde with blue eyes walked out of the bathroom in a bathrobe. The tantalizing glimpse beneath the robe made Ren Ze feel a little heated. He was not some lust-crazed pervert, but he had to admit that such a vivid, seductive sight was a bit hard to handle.

"Who are you? Is this your house? I don't know who I am either. I can't remember."

Ren Ze played dumb. This situation was just too awkward. He wanted to see if he could muddle through by acting foolish while also confirming whether this was the world he suspected.

"I can't remember my own name either."

The blonde frowned in thought at first, then looked at Ren Ze and offered him an apologetic smile.

"Um, you should get dressed first."

Ren Ze walked out of the bedroom.

Hearing that answer, Ren Ze seemed to understand where he was. He sighed inwardly. There was not much to gain in this world, but there was certainly plenty of trouble...

When Alice emerged after changing into the red dress, Ren Ze's eyes lit up. She really was both beautiful and badass. In person, she was sexier and even more captivating than in the movie he remembered.

Before Ren Ze had gotten his fill of admiring her, a squad of fully armed soldiers wearing gas masks stormed in, escorting a man in a suit.

The captain at the front grabbed Alice. "Soldier, report the situation here!"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Alice answered calmly.

"Hey, don't be so rough with a lady. I suggest you be gentler."

Ren Ze snapped back, drawing the soldiers' attention.

"Wait, who are you?"

The captain abruptly released Alice and turned around, pointing his gun at Ren Ze. With his movement, several more gun barrels were trained on Ren Ze.

To be honest, even Ren Ze was a little rattled when several guns were suddenly pointed at him. He went along with it and replied, "I don't know who I am either. I don't know why I'm here. I can't remember anything."

Ren Ze raised his hands, putting on a bewildered expression.

At a time like this, pretending to know nothing was far more useful than explaining himself a hundred times.

"Sir, the house's main defense system was activated. They may still be affected by the side effects."

One person operated the miniature computer on his wrist as he spoke to the captain.

Sure enough, upon hearing what Ren Ze and the soldier said, the captain lowered his gun.

Ren Ze was highly suspicious, but they could not simply kill him. Even if they wanted to question him, they would have to wait until his memories returned.

Perhaps because Ren Ze had been with Alice, although they had no intelligence files on him, they did not handcuff him. The captain ordered, "We'll deal with you once your memories return. From now on, the two of you had better not try anything. Follow us. Move."

The latter words were addressed to Ren Ze and the other handcuffed man in the suit, and then he assigned a soldier to watch them.

At this point, the soldiers removed their gas masks one after another. The captain was a Black man, while the one responsible for escorting the two "prisoners" was a pretty brunette. The soldier with the miniature wrist computer had also hacked open the villa's door leading to the underground passage. Aside from recognizing Alice and knowing this was the Resident Evil World, Ren Ze could not recall anyone else's name for the moment.

"Well? Remember anything yet?"

As they followed the main group, Ren Ze spoke to Alice beside him.

"No. I can't remember anything."

Alice was grateful that Ren Ze had helped her out earlier, and she gave him a faint smile.

"Enough, Casanova. Let's go."

Hearing that Ren Ze still had the mood to flirt with Alice at a time like this, the brunette shoved him irritably. The group then began entering the research facility.

Before long, they stepped onto the platform, quickly repaired the small train, and headed toward the real Hive. They also discovered an unconscious amnesiac man inside one of the train compartments.

"He's fine. He's just lost his memory, like those two earlier."

After examining him, the medic reported to the captain.

The small train soon arrived at the entrance to the real Hive. Alice then walked up to the captain. "Who are you people? What exactly are you doing?"

"Like you, we're employed by Umbrella Corporation. The villa we came to earlier was the entrance to the Hive. You're the security supervisor responsible for guarding the passage."

"What is this?"

Alice took off the ring on her hand and asked.

"Your ring is merely a cover for your identity, meant to conceal your true role in protecting the Hive."

After the captain finished speaking, he turned to the computer guy and said, "Kaplan, fill them in."

While Kaplan gave his explanation, Ren Ze pretended to have recovered a bit of his memory and told everyone the real reason the Red Queen had killed people—the T-Virus had leaked from the laboratory, turning all the researchers into Zombie monsters that needed to feed on living human flesh and blood. Other than their heads, Zombies had no weaknesses.

To prevent the T-Virus from spreading outside, the Red Queen had no choice but to kill everyone and seal every entrance. If they encountered those monsters after going in, they needed to aim for the head before firing.

"Then won't we get infected by the T-Virus and turn into those Zombie monsters you mentioned once we go inside?"

"The T-Virus only remains airborne for a limited time. The T-Virus in the air has already lost its activity. As long as you aren't bitten by a Zombie, breathing the air won't infect you."

Ren Ze continued his explanation.

Everyone looked at Ren Ze with doubt. The captain once again asked who he was and why he knew all this. Ren Ze claimed that he still could not remember for the moment. Since Ren Ze had revealed internal secrets none of them knew, the captain simply assumed he was a high-ranking insider who had escaped beforehand.

Ren Ze merely hoped they would suffer fewer casualties, which would make things safer for himself as well. There was no reason not to spoil things when he could.

At that moment, the team member assigned to breach the door finally forced open the entrance to The Hive with equipment. The group then entered and began searching for the passage leading to the Red Queen's control room. Yet no one noticed that, while everyone else was observing The Hive, Ren Ze quietly planted a Life-Death Talisman on the amnesiac man they had found in the train compartment earlier.

The amnesiac man felt a sharp pain in his back and turned to look around, but he noticed nothing. He only felt an unbearable itch suddenly spread through his body, making him scratch nonstop.

This immediately drew everyone's attention. Those who did not understand thought he had been infected by the virus, and instinctively moved away from him.

"What's wrong with him?"

The captain wore a wary expression as he looked at Ren Ze and asked cautiously.

"I don't know either."

Ren Ze spread his hands with an innocent look.

The captain did not question him further. He merely pointed his gun at the man and ordered him to stay away from the group and lead the way ahead.

The amnesiac man frowned deeply. Under the threat of the gun, he had no time to figure out what was happening. He scratched all over his body while cautiously making his way inside.

"Once we enter The Hive, stay by my side and don't run around. I'll keep you safe."

As they were about to enter the real Hive, Ren Ze lowered his head and whispered into Alice's ear.

His warm breath reached Alice's ear, and she instinctively shrank her neck.

"I understand."

Pretending that nothing had happened, Alice replied softly.

They then discovered that the elevator cables had snapped. With no other choice, everyone had to rely on their own feet and run down the stairs. Perhaps because Ren Ze had been the first person she saw after waking up, perhaps because he had defended her earlier, or perhaps because of what he had just said about the Zombies, Alice, whose memories had yet to return, unconsciously stayed by Ren Ze's side the whole way.

Perhaps seeing Alice's unease, Ren Ze took her hand and led her downward.

Well, even though his combat strength was high now, he was still afraid of nuclear bombs and the T-Virus. Alice would become a big boss later on, comparable to a Psychic Master. Naturally, he had to cling to such a powerful thigh in advance.

It definitely was not because Alice was too captivating.

Alice's face reddened slightly when Ren Ze took her hand. She tried to pull it free, but after struggling once without success, she gave up.

They went down the stairs and reached the bottom level. Ren Ze did not continue taking advantage of her and naturally released her small hand.

"Put this on. It's a little cold in here."

Ren Ze casually took off his tactical jacket and draped it over Alice's shoulders.

Soon, the group arrived before a row of laboratories filled with murky liquid.

The cloudy water concealed whatever was inside the laboratories, leaving everyone unable to see what was actually within.

The glass walls of some laboratories had shattered, and water was flowing out. Yet Ren Ze stood calmly before one particular laboratory.

"What is it?"

Seeing Ren Ze stare at the laboratory in front of him, the captain walked over curiously and asked.

"Look carefully."

Ren Ze pointed at it and spoke softly.

Following Ren Ze's gaze, the captain carefully examined the laboratory filled with murky liquid. Suddenly, the corpse of a woman appeared within it.

"It's just a corpse!"

The captain did not understand what Ren Ze meant, and Alice beside him looked at Ren Ze in confusion as well.

"Don't rush. Look carefully!"

Ignoring everyone's confusion, Ren Ze continued in a serious tone.

Since Ren Ze had said so, he must have known something.

After all, he had previously revealed many things even the captain did not know, such as why the Red Queen had killed so many people.

Thinking of that, the captain looked toward the female corpse. Just as he was about to move his face closer to see what was wrong, the woman's corpse, submerged in the murky liquid, suddenly opened her eyes. Then she pressed both hands against the glass wall.

The horrifying sight instantly startled the captain into backing away two steps with his gun raised. Alice, who had been equally curious, let out a scream and threw herself directly into Ren Ze's arms.

Fine, Ren Ze had only wanted to remind them that Zombies really existed. He definitely had not done it to take advantage of her.
