An hour and a half later, the passenger plane landed steadily at the airport of the Limit Dojo's global headquarters—Hongning Base City.
After leaving the airport, Ren Ze directly boarded the vehicle the dojo had sent to pick him up.
The entire base city was exceptionally beautiful. Its architectural style had completely borrowed from ancient China, with pavilions, terraces, and towers everywhere. It gave him the illusion that he had traveled back to ancient Huaxia.
Seeing Ren Ze curiously taking in the street scenes on both sides, the driver took the initiative to introduce the place.
"During the Great Nirvana, the Dojo Master led his followers to build a simple human settlement on this land, giving countless refugees a place to live. People called it Hongning Base City, because Dojo Master Hong had brought them a peaceful home."
"As time passed, Hongning Base City grew larger and larger!"
"Our Hongning Base City, with the Dojo Master here, can be called the safest base city in the entire world!"
"Every year, many wealthy people and martial artists apply to join our base city. But the Dojo Master has always kept the population under control. Even now, the entire base city only has eight million residents."
The driver's tone was filled with deep pride as he continued, "To this day, not a single king-level monster has dared to come and cause trouble in Hongning Base City."
Even though Ren Ze already knew all this, it did not lessen his admiration for Hong.
Hong had led countless human survivors through a desperate struggle for survival in the apocalypse, building the Limit Dojo and Hongning Base City from nothing. More importantly, he possessed invincible strength and a deep sense of responsibility toward nurturing martial artists!
He was the undisputed number one person on Earth today!
Twenty minutes later.
"We're here. This is the global headquarters of our Limit Dojo!"
The car came to a stop, and the young driver spoke to him proudly.
The moment he entered through the gates, Ren Ze saw the enormous dragon sculpture. The gigantic Black Dragon, nearly fifty meters tall, stared down at him with its huge dragon eyes. It put some pressure on him, though not enough to make him lose his senses.
Surrounding the nearly fifty-meter-long Black Dragon were countless small display screens, each one bearing a name.
Before Ren Ze could inspect them closely, two staff members in black uniforms emerged from the enormous, hatch-like entrance of the headquarters building and quickly approached him.
"Mr. Ren Ze, the Dojo Master wishes to see you. Please come with us."
"The Dojo Master wishes to see me?"
Ren Ze asked in surprise.
He had thought he was merely joining the Elite Training Camp normally. Even if he had a chance to meet Hong, it would have been sometime in the future.
Yet he had never expected to be informed directly that Hong wanted to see him.
"Yes. Follow us and come inside quickly."
The interior of the headquarters building was extremely spacious. It was entirely cast from some unknown alloy, and its layout strongly resembled the interior of a spaceship from a science-fiction film.
"This is the waiting room. Mr. Ren Ze, please rest here and wait. The Dojo Master will summon you shortly."
After bringing Ren Ze here, the staff members left after giving their instructions.
He still did not know why Hong had suddenly summoned him, but at the thought of meeting Hong soon, he could not help feeling a little excited.
This was Hong, Earth's strongest person at this time—the rare Earthling in the original work who could barely keep up with the protagonist Luo Feng!
Even if Ren Ze unleashed everything he had now, he still would not be able to defeat even one of the man's little fingers!
Less than ten minutes after waiting in the lounge, a voice suddenly rang out.
"Ren Ze, the Dojo Master summons you."
A man in a red robe appeared outside the door and spoke to Ren Ze, who was waiting in the lounge.
Taking a deep breath, Ren Ze stood up and followed the Black man in red robes down the corridor. Before long, they arrived outside a quiet room. The man in red bowed slightly, then departed.
"Ren Ze, come in."
A low voice sounded out.
It was a very simple reception room, empty except for two cushions.
Seeing Ren Ze enter, he raised his head. There was a trace of gentleness in his gaze as he pointed at the cushion before him. "Sit."
"Yes."
Ren Ze stepped forward and sat cross-legged on the cushion.
Before Hong, even though his expression remained gentle, the invisible pressure radiating from him alone made one instinctively lower one's head, without the slightest thought of resistance!
"I watched the footage of your battle against the Tiger Cat pack. Iceberg showed it to me."
Hong continued, "You had just turned nineteen. You practiced the Nine-Layered Thunder Blade for less than four months, yet you could already wield the fourth layer with ease. And you possess perfect-level movement techniques."
"The movement technique you used at the time was quite interesting. It didn't seem like the Streamer movement technique that comes with the Nine-Layered Thunder Blade. Did you create it yourself?"
Hearing Hong's words, Ren Ze could not help sighing inwardly. As expected of Hong. He had reached his current level through exploration alone and even developed a domain. Yet he noticed the intricacies of my footwork merely by watching a video.
"I'm ashamed to say it. The movement technique is called Lingbo Micro-steps. My master taught it to me, and I have practiced it for many years. It was only after gaining experience in the Wilderness Zone that I discovered it had some minor shortcomings against certain types of monsters. I merely made a few improvements by combining different methods of exerting force."
Hearing Ren Ze's answer, Hong's eyes gained a trace of curiosity. "Oh? May I ask who your master is? Would he be willing to teach this movement technique to all martial artists?"
After a pause, Hong explained.
"Although we have now established base cities and humanity has safe homes, and the land monsters have reached an agreement with us humans, the ocean is the broadest region on Earth. The number and variety of monsters in the sea are simply endless."
"No one knows when even more powerful evolved monsters will appear. Humanity is still far from safe."
"Every year, tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, of soldiers and martial artists die defending against the monster tides from the sea. Therefore, every martial artist should do their utmost to contribute."
"My 'World Destroyer' and Thunder God's 'Nine-Layered Thunder Blade' are both techniques we willingly made available for all martial artists to purchase and learn."
"I founded the Elite Training Camp to cultivate more peak-level combatants for humanity, so we can face the ever-growing threat of monsters."
"Your movement technique is of great help in improving actual combat. I hope you can persuade your master to turn it into a manual and pass it on to all martial artists."
After hearing Hong's words, only four words kept surging through Ren Ze's mind.
The passing of the torch!
Since ancient times, how had humanity—a race physically far weaker than beasts—gradually evolved until it stood at the top of Earth's biological chain?
Through the passing of the torch!
Now, with monsters threatening humanity, Hong and Thunder God, as the strongest warriors, had passed down their ultimate techniques while also placing such importance on cultivating the overall strength of the human race. They truly deserved to be the leader-level figures of Earth in the original story. Their sense of responsibility and dedication was genuinely admirable.
"Ah, my master passed away not long ago..."
Ren Ze's expression dimmed as he continued, "Of course I'm willing to pass on the movement technique. I also have a highly effective Guidance Technique that I'm willing to include in the movement technique manual."
"Very good. Once you enter the Elite Training Camp, someone from the dojo will contact you to record video materials."
"Once it is completed, your manual will be sold in the online marketplace of Extreme Home. All proceeds, aside from the marketplace's necessary maintenance fees, will belong to you."
After hearing Ren Ze agree, Hong's attitude grew even gentler. He did not continue probing into Ren Ze's master's lineage.
Looking at the young Ren Ze before him, Hong pondered for a moment before saying, "Train well at the camp. I look forward to seeing you grow as soon as possible and become a new pillar of humanity."
"Thank you, Dojo Master!"
Ren Ze said gratefully.
"Go."
Hong closed his eyes and said no more.
After respectfully bowing, Ren Ze left the reception room.
Once he was gone, Hong gently shook his head with his eyes closed.
"I had originally wanted to take him as a personal disciple, but I didn't expect him to already have an inheritance. So be it."
When he saw the video Iceberg had sent back, he had been moved by the profound movement technique displayed within it and had considered taking Ren Ze as his personal disciple.
Otherwise, for something like spreading martial arts and recording videos, dispatching any planetary-level Patrol Inspector would have carried more than enough weight for Ren Ze.
Yet Ren Ze's reply made him think that Ren Ze had only recently suffered the pain of losing his master, so naturally, the matter was no longer appropriate to mention.
"Such strong talent, and he's even a Psychic Master?"
"We'll see just how far you can go! I look forward to you standing beside me soon."
As though he had thought of something, the eyes of the world's strongest man unexpectedly filled with endless worry.
"Ah, the universe..."
Before you continue
